I know you were. Most people who play the lottery as a profession, live on food stamps. And even when most people win the lottery they piss it away. But imagine if I called you a dork or a noob. You would think I was what, 12 or 13, right? - tomburton99
I was more making the point of it being ridiculous to discuss just wanting something as if just stating "I would like a lot of money" without saying ok, here is my business plan for obtaining a lot of money. Just saying "I want a franchise player" doesn't add any value to the conversation. |

Right, their is two ways to get one. Trade too much for one or be really bad and draft one. That's it. |

No rational or irrational opinion of ours matters at the moment. Just look at these statistics:
Goals For-11(28th ranked offense in the league) Goals Against-29(30th ranked defense in the league)
Case closed.

Devils fans are so pathetically petty, if Hank came in at the same age as Fatso he'd end up with the same stats if not better but that's only relevant to fatty right? - cranford93
For someone who cries about devils fans being classless for chanting henrik, you show great class towards a goalie who has 3 cups 4 vezinas oh and how many records
In the grand scheme of sports championships is what counts and well you dont need to have a history lesson |

for me personally you'd have to look long and hard to find me ever saying anything negative about Martin Brodeur

We can only hope. Sometimes it is ok to be bad for a year or two; as long as the team cashes in at the draft and can gain a potential core star.
Rangers just have too many middle of the road players; very few difference makers in the lineup.
I know they can turn it around here but I have a bad feeling about this team and I actually would rather see them blow it up than just be good enough to possibly win a round in the postseason. |

Cat calls in stadiums don't count. Potvin obviously doesn't suck and neither does Brodeur.
...he did f*ck his sister in-law though so that is fair game. |

We can pull a Flyers but do it the right way, cash in on our Vets, get young talent, and have a new core... But that's not for later. We have a very young defense and potentially a good young core. We need to wait thought before making these types of decisions. |

The next three drafts have kids that were granted exceptional player status by Hockey Canada. |

I am not for giving the kids away, no way. I am looking more at dealing away a few key pieces for the right price( a la Girardi, Del Zotto, Richards if he shows well) and get rid of as much dead weight as humanly possible.
There are pieces that have value but the dynamic has to change up here and until it does, do not expect anything special to happen with this group. |

marty didn't single handedly win those championships. hockey, above any other sport, is a team sport. marty is one of the greatest goalies of all time and he certainly had a big part in winning those championships, but he had a great defense in front of him and a great defensive system.
with that said, marty is no longer in the same tier as hank. so you can talk history and how marty used to be the greatest in the game, and we'll take hank who's currently top 2 in the game. |

in what? his 1.5 seasons he's played buried on the 3rd line? hardly enough of a sample size to say that's what type of player he'll be the next 15 years of his career.
seguin currently has 10 points in 8 games and looks like he's destined to be an all-world superstar. would love this kid on my team any day of the week. |

probably not exceptional talent in the sense of crosby or ovechkin, and maybe not ever tavares, but he has the potential to be as close as humanly possible in my opinion. |

I thought Reinhart would go first this year. I feel lots of players will get granted exceptional player status now that its a new standard. Will any of them really be exceptional players? Who knows probably Mcdavid though but the Crosby comparison is a bit much. |
