the '86 Cup, don't think a goalie ever won a Cup for a team more than Roy did.
He was insane. That's back in the era when team's used to score goals, Vanbiesbrouck won the Vezina that year with a 3.32 GAA.
Roy's GAA in the playoffs was a 1.92. - jimbro83
I know he didn't win the cup, but Hasek was ridiculous in 99. he single handedly brought a weak Sabres team to the finals |

Sean Day was granted exceptional status this year, he's also a defenseman. - tomburton99
Who does Day play for?
Edit: Got it. |

I really think Hasek was the best goalie I have ever seen, and I don't mean that as a negative to either Roy or Brodeur.

15 and he's already 6'2 and 190. He'll dominate the OHL, but idk if it will carry over in the NHL. |

You honestly sound like a child calling people n00bs and dorks and tom tom and all these kiddy names. Grow up and talk hockey civilly jesus not everyone is going to agree with every word you say - WayneY

The most exciting acrobatic goalie I've ever seen was Roger Crozier. His 1st full year with the Red Wings in 1964 was unbelievable. He was really the 1st to introduce the butterfly style and at 5'10 or so he would throw his pad up to the crossbar thrilling the crowd. All goalies back then were very conventional standup guys, and then one day this guy showed up. Back then it was very exciting. |

One of only 5 players to win the Conn Smythe while a member of the defeated team. |

So, why? You miss the point too. There is NOTHING to agree with.
My original comment, a throw away line, at the end of a comment about how even though the proposed roster for 2014/15 was better than this current lot, I was still doubtful about it being successful. A Crosby on the team, isn't just a franchise player, it's someone you can be proud of because of consistent, reliable production. When in the last 5 years have I been able to be proud of a player (other than a goalie) wearing the Rangers jersey. I Haven't. I want a guy that when I know he is taking the ice, I am going to see something special. But Crosby isn't the only guy, there are a number of teams that have players that I'd want to watch and yes, there are teams like the rangers that don't have them either. Saying I want one 'haha' seems like a pretty minor thing to say, but when taken out of context by TomTom, and others wanting a full financial plan when saying they want to win the lottery, give me a break! THAT is ridiculous.
Why do you feel like I need to grow up? Just to conform? Not everyone is going to agree with you OR act they way you want. I am a big kid heart and there are too many uptight jerks getting too serious over sport. A sport. And you want me to grow up. Wow.

He's asking you to be civil. Not to agree. You might want to review the Code of Conduct. Attacking other posters (and calling them names is a lame attempt to discredit them) is against the CoC.

MESSIER FOR HEAD COACH! - aecliptic
I would love that so he could fail miserably, as he would with the construction of the team, and weep copiously, and never be heard from again.
I just think if you want to be a head coach in the NHL you should learn to coach by coaching somewhere at a lower level or at least as an asst in the NHL. |

It cant get any worse...
Atleast the guys in the locker room will respect the guy and play their hearts out to not have Messier chew their asses.
Messier will suit up and school the young kids. |

I just don't understand this "losing the room" thing.
The Rangers didn't quit. They were down 3-0 to the Bruins and won game 4 in overtime, oh yeah, I remember that game. Torts put Kreider in the lineup.
I really am at the point where I don't care what the players think whatsoever. - jimbro83
I kind of agree with this but the rags were getting really tiresome
To watch last year. Just losing too much really. If they are winning,
Their playing style/system is moot. I dont think any devils fans during their glory years gave a rats arse about them being boring as they were winning 3 cups.
Seeing the rags getting blown out of
The water like they are now is also seriously painful. One can only hope
It's growing pains. |

How do you suppose they get that? The Rangers had their shot in plenty of drafts and missed on every one. You call me a "dork" or "N00B" fine. But you can't make an opinion on want a franchise player than not provide an idea on how the Rangers acquire one.
You talk about how you want the Rangers to blow up the roster because some aspects of it are terrible, fine. I'm right their with you. Pyatt, Pouliot and DZ all can go away as far as I'm concerned.
However, the only way one or both of those are happening is if the team just tanks. Most don't want to see that. You, you want both of those things. Explain with the Rangers being awful how the team accomplishes you goals? - tomburton99

I'll take your word for it. Goalies that have 3.32 GAA now are considered average at best. - tomburton99
Goalies with a 3.32 GAA for an entire season these days would be unemployed |
