Now that Snider has given Homer a vote of confidence, how many days/weeks until Hexy is promoted? - feelingkettle
Luuko also added a vote of confidence... Hexy should start picking out furniture and moving it into the GM's office ASAP. |

I saw Homer pumping his own gas at a Wawa in NJ today. It already may be too late. |

if only we lost our last games right? - 2Real
Yeah. Instead we're stuck with a defenseman who looked pretty damn good as an 18-year-old in his first training camp. Oh, what could have been... |

No... those games needed to be won. I'd rather trade roster players for those kinds of needs. |

Nich was like 20 on their best available prospects list, we weren't getting him no matter how high our pick |

You know what they say about defensemen who look good in their first training camp.. |

And that's the point, that you need the right mix.
But, yes, a clear-cut #1 would help. - jmatchett383
That is the Flyers biggest issue right now. Even just a decent top 4 2 way player like Paul Martin would help this team a lot. I think the Flyers have to decide in the near future. Which 2 of the 3 defensive defenseman they want to keep.

When I thought we had a real shot to land suter or weber in 2012, I was really excited. IMO u need that to contend. - Hextall271
But yet Holmgren gets ripped and criticized for going after both players.

I would imagine Schenn and Grossmann stay and Coburn is moved to maximize cap space. At least that would be the argument for moving Coburn. |

I don't know if that 1M makes that big of a difference. I personally feel that because of age, Schenn is going to stay. Unless he's involved in a trade of some sort to bring in a different piece. I think Grossmann is the better player over Coburn. But Coburn has much greater mobility, and Grossmann has bad knees. It's a tough call for me, because I like all 3 players. But I really feel that they have to tweak the mix on the defense.

sad part is they could trade any one of those 7 dmen and no one would be angry about it.
actually think moving Gus would get the most backlash |

I am surprised that there hasn't been a trade yet.. I was execting a reactionary trade. Also surprised how quiet the rumors have been... not that they mean anything, but things have been a little too quiet. |
