As per TSN...
Taylor Hall will have his knee cap removed and then the fragments (7 pieces) will be wired together and be reinserted. Listed as day to day - all mighty oil
If that doesnt work they could always use one of his front teeth to replace it |

I'd trade Yak for Burns but no way SJ will let Burns go---he's having a "huge" impact on the wing for them. I'm with those who feel that the Oil need to re-balance the mix of assets to get size with skill and compete up front, not to mention better D & 'tending. - haymac
We definitely have a couple major assets to trade, with Yakapov, Klefbom and are first RD pick this year. I'm pretty sure we could bring in some size and character and maybe even a goalie. However, I think we need to wait a month to really be able to evaluate our team. In Yaks defense he played on the 3rd line for the most part to start the season. |

Toews Kane and Sharp are all similar sized guys to the Oiler's. Size does not alwasy equal toughness. Ex. Penner. - ChetManly
Agreed, but most managers will take the larger of similarly skilled players when drafting or trading. Toughness isn't only fighting, it's how a guy plays and size is a definite asset in the game.
Since you're looking at the Hawks, you have to agree that Bickell was in the running for MVP last playoffs. Add Handzus and Hossa and those guys are very hard to knock off the puck as well as have skill. Toews & Sharp are bigger than Ebs Perron and Gags--only Kane is under 6', but the size of the Hawks on the top 2 lines is significantly bigger than the Oilers. Look at the overall size of the players of the other teams that have advanced in the Playoffs: St.L., L.A., S.J., Bos & Pitt. It's a bonus for a smaller guy to play tougher and above his weight, but too many on a team's top lines does not lead to success. |

I can only imagine the fun that would be seen if somehow the Oilers got Steve Ott and put him on a line with Perron. |

Agree! Fighting is just a bonus when it comes to toughness. Its how the players play on the for check and board play. It is all about grit and compete level. The oilers aren't a tough team and get pushed around and lose the puck way too much. They need to get a couple bigger players to compensate for the lack of size and toughness in the top 9. They don't need a Steve MacIntyre, I hope if they plan on moving a Yak or Hall who ever... they get a bigger body back like a Stewart, Simmonds or a player along those lines. |

Honestly think he would be with Nuge and Eberle. I'd rather have Foligno just think he has more offensive upside. Doubt buff moves him though. |

Matt Henderson: David Perron, Shift-Disturber
David Perron is 9 games into his Oiler career and stands out already as playing a style of game that the other teams will hate. He is chippy, skilled, takes liberties with goalies, and doesn't mind selling penalties. - Matt_Henderson
Yep he is exactly what we were missing. All we need next is for RNH to get more like Bergeron and someone to be a Lucic. |

I'm going to be very honest, i didn't bother reading your response, it just seemed too long. Plus i stopped caring after you brought up fighting. I never once implicated that being tough meant having to fight. |

Too bad he isn't 3 inches taller & 30 pounds heavier. Really like his style. We still need 2 talented, large wingers on the top 2 lines.
BTW, Pitt has decided to retian Maatta so when Letang comes back, they'll be looking to trade a "D". Niskanen is a UFA after this year. Wouldn't mind seeing the Oil take a crack at landing him with a conditional pick and/or a prospect. - haymac
Wouldn't pay a ton for Nisk he's been a bit of a disappointment for them but he could certainly help our crew |

Perron reminds me of a carbon copy of Burrows. I understand they have a different skill set but the poop disturber factor and maybe the French in him.
And this team will win more games with Hall out of the lineup. Watch the turnaround In the team. He's been the worst Oiler this year. He's killed the PP and has had terrible giveaways that have lead to way to many primo chances for opposition. |

Who have thought that we'd be lucky enough to have Omark still in our system.
I wonder how he feels knowing he's further from being a full time NHLer than Tyler Pitlick |

There's a difference of being a non factor and being a liability.
Hall has been nothing but a huge liability.
He has 0 vision on the PP and makes bone head moves.
Hopefully this time of will give him a fresh start. |
