Maybe they'll alternate Maatta and Bortuzzo the rest of the year to keep his games under 40. - madmike71
I thought this too, but the article on the Pens site the other day said that the 10 and 40 game marks are based on team games that a player is on the roster for. No clue how IR figures in on it, but apparently you can't just healthy scratch a guy to keep his game number down. |

Letang can come off now, D'Agostini for Saturday's game, and Neal the next game (looks like he's out past that though). |

John Scott is as good as gone
@YahooSportsNHL: To repeat: 6-foot-8 250-pound John Scott, with 1 goal and 300+ PIMs in 187 NHL games, elbows Lady Byng/Selke-sequel Loui Eriksson in head

Saw that... Would have made the old Matt Cooke blush. Exactly the type of hit that should get him banned for 20 or more games. Not this 3 or 5 game crap. |

Agreed. Should easily be 12+ games. He almost looked like he planned it out before he made it. Wasn't just a last second choice. Also, Erikson was injured. |

Yup, clear intent. Sad.... Can't have that type of play in the game. He should lose a quarter of his season. It's got to really sting to get through to some of these morons. |

The saddest thing about the Scott hit is that it'll improve the Sabres. They will have to dress someone who can skate. |

Rolston should be fined as well. There's absolutely no reason to skate Scott. There are tons of other skaters that they could have get some NHL time instead of him. Pretty sad. I don't like to see people lose their jobs but he's not fit to wear an NHL uniform. Guys like Asham, Lucic, Prust and Glass certainly can throw down but they can contribute to a game as well. Scott doesn't and cannot.
@TSNBobMcKenzie: BUF's John Scott has an in-person hearing with NHL for hit to the head on BOS's Loui Eriksson though date and time has yet to be set. |

Mike Milbury is 100% correct in this rant. The segment is about 7 min long, but worth it.

Absolutely agree with him...which is rare
But I don't know how anyone can argue against what they said last night. |

The problem, Scott, as much of a punk as he is, isn't a repeat offender. That said, he is a guy that averages a little over 7 minutes per game when he plays and has scored only one goal in 180 games. He isn't in there to play clean hockey. I'd throw the book at him and make him watch tonights Flyers v. Rags game. That is a severe punishment.
Seriously, made an example out of him. 15 games. |

Why I love watching the Rangers suck:
THEY know all about serious injuries. (frank)ing priceless.
I hope the Flyers stomp them tomorrow. - canadianpenfan
Kind of like rooting for Hitler or Stalin. |

Megna was recalled this morning. Hopefully him and Jeffrey actually dress at the wings tomorrow. |

I can see Megna dressing but who sits so that DJ gets a spot on the bench? |

I don't understand the infatuation with DJ. Please somebody explain to me why this guy is so good. When I watch these games I see a slow, soft skater with average hands. |

He actually plays the forward position unlike Engelland. |

So does Z, Vitale, payerl, megna, kunhackel, Zlobin, Thompson, Uher, Gibbons.
I don't see what so great about this guy. A 4th liner thats slow and soft with average hands is useless. |

No one's saying he's great. I'm complaining that Engelland was dressed over him for a few games which as we all saw was way more useless. And the fact they call players up and dress them over him. Either waive the guy or use him. |

I noticed Engelland more in his 2 games at forward than I did Jeffery in every other game. Because he wasn't busy getting pushed off the puck and losing races like Jeffery spends his 8 or 10 minutes a night doing. He actually managed to put some pressure on the other team even if there was virtually no chance of getting a point out of it. And helped put together a decent forecheck a few times, which is also more than I noticed DJ do in just about every game ever. |

Well I disagree completely. Engelland and Connors inability to play the wall a few feet inside their own zone is killer. Jeffrey does it pretty well. Engelland has no idea how to play a puck rimmed around the boards facing his own net. Not necessarily his fault. Hes not a forward |
