Well I disagree completely. Engelland and Connors inability to play the wall a few feet inside their own zone is killer. Jeffrey does it pretty well. Engelland has no idea how to play a puck rimmed around the boards facing his own net. Not necessarily his fault. Hes not a forward

Yup, Engelland was noticeable......and that wasn't a good thing. Not a fan of DJ, but he's a much more desirable option over Engo at forward. Connors has no business playing in an NHL game.

I won't even get into Connor. He doesn't belong anywhere on an NHL ice. He's a pretty good AHLer but too small and lacking the skill to play at the NHL level.

And while he's mediocre (at best) at playing the puck along the boards, he's still stronger on the puck than Jeffery IMO. Jeffery loses the puck by looking at him too forcefully. And his own-zone work at the Forward position needs work, but like you said... he's not a forward. He's done it for 2 games and has played the position about as usefully as DJ has since he got here. They're both ineffective forwards, but at least Engelland provides some toughness and forecheck that Jeffery is completely useless for. Jeffery is better in his own zone though at the moment.

Apparently Alex Goligoski is falling out of favor in Dallas.... I wonder what they'd give us for a solid puck moving defensemen like Matt Niskanen?

The problem, Scott, as much of a punk as he is, isn't a repeat offender. That said, he is a guy that averages a little over 7 minutes per game when he plays and has scored only one goal in 180 games. He isn't in there to play clean hockey. I'd throw the book at him and make him watch tonights Flyers v. Rags game. That is a severe punishment.

Seriously, made an example out of him. 15 games.

He doesn't play enough nightly to have dirty acts. He is on the ice for 38 seconds and gets in a fight then sits the rest of the night.

Which is the most abso-(frank)ing-lutely useless thing in the NHL. If guys like Scott weren't in the NHL it would be a better game. And I am on the pro-fight side of the argument.

I don't root for players to fail but he and Whitney have done nothing to discredit my assessments of their play.

Whitney was decent in his first year in Edmonton, well the first 38 games and then his ankle destroyed itself and he lost any footspeed he had and his complete game fell apart because of it. Now he is a #8 on Florida.
