Honestly if the shot situation plays out more like this game (minus only 2 shots in the first) then we should be fine. They may have only had 23 shots, but they seriously limited the Ducks chances and that's a team strong when 5 on 5. Leafs have the skillset to pounce on the right chances, just have to play harder and create opportunities.

The cap crunch should be less severe now that we've got Clarkson back and not carrying around that dead cap space. Hopefully stabilize the second line with Kadri and Lupul.

Be nice if this was a turning point performance. They can win games if they play like they did in the second and third. Limit the opposition, just don't strangle your own offense to death at the same time.

Can't see it happening.....it's not a bad deal, but Upshall's contract is just as bad as Liles contract, so what's the gain? And Liles can play in the NHL, Upshall can't.

I wonder what it would take to get someone like Niklas Hjalmarsson out of Chicago. The Hawks did just extend him, but a guy like that would be a solid shutdown option to bring into the Leafs defensive corps.

Or how about Smid in Edmonton...they are likely interested in both Reimer and Gardiner....something could be done there.

Claim Maroon when he goes on waivers (the ducks continue to yo yo this kid, even though he brings size, grit as well as soft hands). Stick him on the fourth line and let him play the season, he may surprise and move up the lineup.

There was a stat I read somewhere this morning...something about the Leafs being 7-3 and 2nd in the Eastern Conference. That must mean nothing though because corsi say's they're 30th.

EDIT: Granted we're 12% into the season...let's see where they are after 20 games and re-evaluate, but let's say at worst the go 5-5 and the corsi stays the same...can we all agree it's an over-rated stat at that point?
