I don't thinkn he's been too bad. He's done some good forechecking and made a few good passes. That last pass was brutal, but I think a Ranger smacked the top hand of his stick right when he was making the pass. Not sure, but it kind of looked that way to me in real time.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's the permanent "answer" on that line, but he's done ok tonight for a young guy on his first chance with the top line. At this point, I'd be tempted to put Read on that line with G and Vinny just to see if he would spark something. He's been their best player by a mile this season.

I respect how steady they are, emotionally, because that really does win more games over the long haul.

But right now, when you're in a dogfight to turn this season around...emotion is good.

Anything they can use to build upon is good.
