Yes. When you say "Simmonds HAS to go", you're implying that he's a big part of what is wrong with the team. At least most rational folks would read it that way given the context. And his follow up comments certainly do nothing to dissuade that interpretation. Seem pretty clear he thinks Simmonds is a big part of what is wrong with the team.

Giroux is still a hot mess. Voracek is trying some things but both are playing on the perimeter too much.

No you're right. Typical NHL making a call based on the injury not on the play. It was an unfortunate play but not a penalty.

In real time it didn't look good. Refs do have a tougher job in that regard. I needed a replay to really see what happened. They don't have that benefit

F'ing ouch! Hope Max is ok. Definitely wasn't vicious, but these guys need to bury a few on this 5 minute advantage.

That's what I was just gonna say.. I really hope Max is ok.. that looked bad.. broken nose maybe sore back and concussion.

I don't thinkn he's been too bad. He's done some good forechecking and made a few good passes. That last pass was brutal, but I think a Ranger smacked the top hand of his stick right when he was making the pass. Not sure, but it kind of looked that way to me in real time.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's the permanent "answer" on that line, but he's done ok tonight for a young guy on his first chance with the top line. At this point, I'd be tempted to put Read on that line with G and Vinny just to see if he would spark something. He's been their best player by a mile this season.

Probably, he kept his head up to protect his neck as much as possible which put the hit right on his face. But when your skates and head try and meet behind you, not a good thing.

Back to the game, Flyers still aren't bearing down on the puck. Had some good chances but either aren't getting good wood, or aren't getting the puck to the net. Slow cross ice passes are either being picked off, or the Rangers are blocking the shot.

Alright a few observations thru 2 periods, I'd appreciate feedback if you guys agree or not:
1) I do like the energy we're playing with, but it sucks that we're still snake bit on scoring.

2) Is it just me or does Mason seem a bit shaky? Clearly the goal wasn't his fault but he's leaving some juicy rebounds.

3) Like the fight from Simmonds, but if I'm the coach he's only on the ice for offensive zone faceoffs or neutral zone on Rangers side. He's completely inept at handling the puck.

4) VL looks great. All that needs to be said about his play.

Finish off with a no brainer prediction: If we don't score on the 5min PP we lose in regulation.
