I wouldn't read too much into Zadorov (nor even Ristolainen) being in the NHL right away... Buffalo has a history of rushing #1-picks and stunting them and/or picking complete duds to begin with.
They're about to waste a 2nd year off of Grigorenko's ELC, rotating him between the 4th-line and the pressbox. Ristolainen's already been sent to the Amerks. If Zadorov stays up, I wouldn't expect him to get too much ice time, much less keep scoring goals. - Tomahawk

He has to maintain near a point-per-game pace (or more) in the Q this season for me to even start to believe that he has enough offensive game to have #1 potential. - Tomahawk
Well, right or wrong, my big issue is that the QMJHL isn't known for producing big-time defenders. You look at the top guys (Weber, Karlsson, Pietrangelo, OEL, etc.) and they're all either WHL, OHL, or international. Letang came from there, but otherwise, I can't think of another big-name defender in the league that came out of that system.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the WHL breed. |

Just one report on Morin:
TSN Scout Craig Button:
Samuel is obvious because of his size but what has become every bit as obvious is his ability to impact the game not only with that size but with an ever-improving skill set. Very good skater with mobility, balance and quickness. He's a very difficult player to break down with speed and he is able to use his skating to put opponents into disadvantageous positions. He reads the play well defensively and makes plays under pressure. He has good puck skills and he moves the puck cleanly and effectively. He will assert physically and has a territorial mindset and as he continues to mature, will have the ability to make it very unpleasant to play against him. Has continued to improve and shows the potential to be that big defenceman who is so coveted in the NHL.
Rankings:
Craig Button: No. 13 | NHL CS: No. 23 NAS | ISS: No. 32 | The Hockey News: No. 20 | McKeen's: No. 10 - aantny88
I see nothing in that scouting report that says a 4-6 |

Giroux is currently riding an 8-game no goal streak.
Busty McBusterson?
14-game stretch last year with only 1 goal.
Trade him for a 7th rounder. |

OK, this is waaaaay off topic, but why do people always assume that putting brothers together on a team is always 100% a positive thing?
I have two brothers. We used to play hockey together.
It was not always a positive thing for us or the dressing room. |

No, but Zadorov was rated higher in those same rankings and was listed as :"Nikita is another of the 'big man' defence prospects. His skating base is very good and his stride is long and powerful and he's able to gain a lot of ice quickly. This allows him to be a threat offensively but it also makes it very difficult to gain an advantage on him defensively. He will play physical and he can be a significant physical presence in the game. He has good awareness with the puck and has a heavy shot that can make it very difficult for goaltenders to corral it. He has developed defensively where he recognizes the situation and makes very solid plays and is not using his skills to make up for mistakes but is using them to impact the game. He has the potential to be a top three defenceman in the NHL." |

Apparently, there's some locker room trouble. Apparently, Braydon stole one of Luke's sweaters without asking. Luke apparently chased him around the locker room, finally tackling him.
As of this writing, Braydon and Luke are each serving 15-minute timeouts. |

My point is more that I don't get too high on a prospect or to low. I just wait to see how all prospects develop and hope for the best with every one of them. |

I'd take the older McGinn, and the Sedins.
That would be cool. |
