Ference benefited from being in Boston... I'm not convinced he's half as good as some people thought.

I read an article on oilersnation about klefbom. Sound like he's playing great and its a matter of time before he gets recalled. It also depends is McNabb ready if they get him? Can klefbom handle the big league? Regardless they need there defence to be tougher and harder to play against.

I think klefbom will get a few games first and I can see them bringing in McNabb if klefbom needs more time in okc

He is an upgrade. Smid is now in the bottom pairing.

No one thought he was a top 2. He is doing what I thought he would, steady play with leadership.

I think Devan Dubnyk is D O N E done in the NHL...but yes, actually waiving him would be worse than stupid. I just don't think someone with zero urgency in his game deserves all of these second chances.

he played terribly for 3 or 4 and then has played very solid for 3.
I don't know about the urgency, but I think the most important part was bouncing back. which hes done so far

while ill agree he's been suspect at times, you can tell he gets overwhelmed at times. he had some insulation in boston...

I don't think too many overestimated his skills that much. we all knew he wasn't super talented or some game changer. but he's a battler, an experienced vet that knows how to win, is defence first, is from sher pk, and looks to make the simple play.

Well for all of the Mact haters....can you imagine how badly we would all be flaming him if he had made the similar deal to Snow right now? If he gave up Hemsky, a first and second for Vanek he'd be getting torched. Sometimes you just need to be patient and wait for the right deal. If there were a true top 2 guy out there he would be doing it. No one is available.

Depends. Isles were a playoff team, they are trying to get better. Rentals go for that all the time. Be interesting to see if they can keep him because if they can Snow will look like a genius. We simply aren't in a position to be moving picks for a forward, Isles a bit different.

MacT has made some pretty decent moves since coming here. The Perron trade alone makes up for anything he did wrong. Add his center depth that everyone including myself didn't like and he's laughing.

im not sure.

vanek isn't really what we need, so if it was for him. yeah im sure some would be mad.
but a good roster player and a 1st (the 2nd doesn't faze me--way less valuable) isn't a terrible deal for a team in the isles position. that's not far off the going rate.

and who would be freaking out if it was the same deal for us but hemmer going and a defender coming back?

and another good thing is the market has kinda been set now. myers nor ehrhoff are in vanek's echelon. so either would cost less.
same goes for Coburn etc etc

as far as tyler and Christian go, I don't think their mega long contracts really add value to them. if it was 2 maybe 3 years, then yes..but those long term anchors cant add much value

I dont agree with the entire comment above... There is respect for those that at least try to work... Those (frank)ers that do not have a disability but dont want to work that are on welfare are more of a concern to me... IMO those useless and lazy people that collect welfare cheques should go and pick garbage for at least 10 hrs a month in the community and ditches... but no... why make anyone earn their way in life
