I agree, but Total Package Byfuglien only shows up maybe half a dozen times per season... but when it does, watch out.
Phaneuf brings less to the table, but he's much more consistent, so you're probably going to get more out of him when all is said and done.
If Byfuglien brought it every night, he'd have the Norris on lock-down. - Tomahawk
Byfuglien at his best, can't compare to top defenseman in this League such as Subban, Karlsson, Keith, Weber, etc. He's not even as good as Doughty, Pietrangelo, Suter, or OEL. He's good offensively, but doesn't bring enough in other areas.
I agree about his inconsistency. I just disagree on what his top level is. |

In my opinion it's not. They are comparable offensively, and Phaneuf has a big edge in terms of actually playing as a defenseman in his own end. Skill levels are also comparable. if I had to choose between the two, Phaneuf wins easily. That's before you even consider the rumored fitness issues. - MJL
I would disagree with this whole heartedly. Phaneuf, to me is terrible in his own end. He often looks like a chicken with his head cut off out there |

I don't think he's a shutdown defender, but he's solid in his own end. He sometimes can get running around a little, looking to make a hit. But when he's disciplined, he's pretty good. |

MacLean's latest onanistic pursuit...
SPORTSNET: Doug MacLean suggested the Philadelphia Flyers would be a good fit for Ryan Miller, but Miller would have to agree to sign long-term with the Flyers to make the trade work. Nick Kypreos reports Miller, who has a limited no-trade clause, won’t accept a trade to a Canadian team. “Ray Emery, say, could be sent to Buffalo in a package centred on draft picks and become the backup to Jhonas Enroth.”

he's not playing above his head. playing for a poopty columbus team for 4 years will do that to a goalie. he's not even entered his prime yet. got about 3 years to go for that window. |

Ive probably watched about 10 from last year and like 5 this year. Miller has always been my lone Sabre' who I liked, but what I like more is how little were paying our goalies right now |

About the same # of games for every other team besides the Flyers and Penguins. So guess I can only comment on 2 teams. |
