you missed the part where the flyers trade Mason for Eberle or Yakapov and then get Miller
- Marc D
You know. A lot of you remind me of the HB's version on Matthew Barnaby. Nothing but smart arse sarcasm to put others down. |

This team is NOT winning a cup with this roster or with prospects coming up in the next few years. Making playoffs is not a concern to me. Actually think it would be better to miss playoffs. Maybe players get hungrier and management finally gets the hint it's players are over valued. If we were close to playoffs ( which almost every team will be by deadline) as league is so even nowadays I'd still rather see at least hartnell, kimmo, coburn/and or mez traded. Maybe more in right deal. In a package or separate we should be able to clear cap space and get either or both good prospects or High draft picks. Those players won't be around when team vets better anyways. Then if we mSke playoffs it's a nice bonus but not at expense of future well Ess of team - SMS4016
They're not going to get enough for the guys you want to trade for it to be worth it.
Timonen looks cooked out there. Meszaros is a guy they have been trying to give away. Hartnell has a NMC, so the ball's in his court, regardless. Coburn is the one guy who doesn't have a NMC and possible value that could land them something significant back.

Sounds like what Kings fans were saying after the horrible start in 2011. The team was playing horrible save for the goalie. Nothing like the Flyers this year. |

You want to trade Coburn, a guy who gets ripped on here pretty regularly (and if that's any indication, his value league-wide may correspond) and a goalie with 15 good games after 4 years of bad goaltending, for last year's 1st overall pick. Somehow I don't see that happening. |

Until we put all-star Lauridsen on our top pair for 25 minutes a night. |

He was still in the league from 2001-2007 - Flyskippy
Eric had that one good year after he got traded and was either injured or average after that.
I doubt anyone was pining away for the Dallas Stars version of the E-Train. |

That's the other thing...I'd much rather move Grossmann than Coburn. |

No offense but if you look at kings rosters in 2011 and flyers roster in 2013 we aren't in the same stratosphere in talent or experience as them. |

Thats fine. I can handle people not agreeing with me. I like the debate. I dont even mind people saying that doesnt work, or that value is far off. At least that way yuo getting other peoples opinions and learning.
Its passive agressive male donkies that are just soo annoying. When I have a problem is someone, I'm direct about it, and i bring the fight to that person. Might get me some bans, but hey, its better then being like Avery or Barnaby. Jerks. |

It's fine with me. I think the whole Yakupov thing is a load anyway. I think he got benched and that turned into "Oilers looking to trade Yakupov." Doubt he's available for any reasonable ransom. |

Yes, in an (not really all that successful) attempt to keep 2 Norris-caliber defensemen from jumping ship. |

Lauridsen's 15-game callup in a protected defensive environment proves he can be your #1 shutdown man. No worries. |

Yea? Didn't they also just get done significantly changing the "future" of the team by trading Top Prospect Schenn and promising forward Simmonds for a vet Mike Richards? And then when they struggled they made a tough decision and traded a cap firendly young offensive d-man for a top line scoring Jeff Carter?
If you think of this team in terms of a puzzle, the puzzle is almost complete. Just missing some pieces. You think LA regrets trading Johnson, Schenn, and Simmonds? Just like I wouldnt mind trading Couts, Laughton, or Simmonds. Gotta crack some eggs to make omlettes. |

Gaustad had no NTC/NMC.
Not only does another team have to be desperate for Hartnell or Timonen, they'd have to agree to go there.
I just think you're overvaluing these guys a tad. |

I wish they could give protected minutes to Coburn and Grossmann, but they are it for this team right now.
The D needs a retooling, but there is not a lot out there to help them unfortunately.
Don't you think the Islanders would have rather trade Matt Moulson, their 1st rounder and second rounder for a top pair D man rather then a all star left winger?
The teams with young legit top pair guys are locking them up. |

Thrashers traded top prospect Braydon coburn for poopty alexi zhitnik. Lol. Point is gm's routinely mSke biggest mistakes at deadline day. Happens every single year. Dmen are of highest priorities even kimmo would bring #1pick. Some team will be looking to make playoffs or go far that need a kimmo type And will pay. |

I think Timmo if he waives his no trade would bring back a decent pick/prospect at the TDL |

Again, you need somebody who is desperate.
In the Gaustaud trade, Poile was desperate to convince his two stud defensemen he was serious about being a contender. In the Zhitnik deal, Don Waddell's job was on the line-no playoffs and he probably gets fired.
Does Hartnell waive his NMC and spend the next three years in Edmonton or Columbus? Does Timonen ditch his family to play a couple months in Anaheim? Possible, but not sold. |
