Yeah -- the Ducks are starting to peel back and take away the pass when they lose possession. It's becoming a bit of a problem...hopefully, the coaches have seen this and make a few adjustments. - AllInForFlyers
Yeah, Grossmann had time on both turnovers. He was playing hot potato, forcing it when he had some time. |

A lot less energy that period. A repeat of that next period and this game could get ugly in a hurry.
And what was that call on Giroux? |

Called him for a dive...replay showed that he did embellish a tad |

The usual call is both off in that case, one for c/checking, one for unsportsmanlike conduct. |

To me it looked like a no call either way.. He was hit in the back but not a hard crosscheck.. Don't think it was a dive either. |

I don't know that they had less energy...the Ducks, to me, are daring the Flyers defense to make the right plays, consistently.
Schenn looked horrific that period, Grossmann had some brutal turnovers...
Our mobility issues and average-to-below puck skills for the defense kinda showed up that period.
That being said, as you guys have noted before, if the forwards come back a little harder and a little deeper, some of that can be minimized.

Given what they have been letting go tonight, I could see no call being made at all, for sure.
Both teams have gotten away with quite a bit. |

Rosehill was a prime example on the Ducks goal. Stood in the slot, didn't even start to skate to anyone until Cogliano was shooting. - Jsaquella

Which I hate. I think if ur going to call a dive then scrap the other call and punish the player. Thier is no room in hockey for dives. |

I'm happy to see one OR the other called, not both.
every team has a few players who embellish, and G is one who does it for the Flyers. I hope the refs start cracking down on that stuff. It's embarrassing. |

At least one probably did. One of tonight's refs is Wes McCauley (son of the late NHL referee/ and director of officiating John McCauley, Stewart's mentor and best friend, for whom he named his eldest son McCauley John). Wes remains very close with Stewart, so he is no doubt aware of Paul's blog. |

Guess you guys can blame me then as I asked for his impressions on embellishment in one of his first blogs. |

That could have conceivably been 4 minutes. Schenn lucky there.

the first 20 minutes were great.
the last 23 minutes resemble the Flyers from earlier this year. |
