So with Giordano out for CGY for 6-8, what are the chances they'd be in the market for a Mr. JML to help keep them afloat during a very good start for the Flames? - AngryWhiteMale
23.9% - 100% |

Id say if he plays Wed night, chances are high that happens, showcase before they eat his salary and move him |

Sure and every teams system is different. I just dont see how corsi numbers can reflect a players worth, which is how many seem to use these stats. To me the advanced stats seem to contribute to the overall team, more so than individual players. - TonkaPhaneuf
Agreed...and they shouldnt be used to solely evaluate a players worth, however can be supportive data to say that player X isnt great defensively as shown over the course of 3-4-5 seasons or what have you. |

I loved watching Grabo but it kind of defeats the purpose of having great scoring wingers when your centre won't get rid of the puck. - Canada Cup
cept he has 128 career assists and only 98 goals
yup, sounds like a puck hog
that was a stupidly overblown assessment of him |

Decent, actually....but know that the Flames would be in a position of strength as they do not need a guy like Liles, but could use him. |

CGY has more than enough cap space that we really shouldn't have to eat too much, if any of his salary.
They are in a position where they're doing well enough that they can't afford to lose ground. They should be smart and just take him off our hands. |

It still doesn't change the fact Grabovski was a head case who fought with his own team during practice and was run out of two organizations. Skill isn't everything.
I understand the paying a mediocre centre like a good one argument but Grabovski was still a mediocre centre....we were just paying him more. - MrBen
Grabo has the potential to be a 60P centre.. bozak.. not so much
him and carlyle didnt get along so he's gone.. its as simple as that |

flames realistically should just stay the course.
play all their young guys and AHL guys - no need to bring anyone in.
end up with a quality pick and continue the rebuild.
thats my honest opinion, and id love them to take liles but it really would be foolish unless they can get a decent prospect back as well that would be worth grooming into a slot for them in the future. |

Another wrinkle in the Vanek deal: if the 1st round pick NYI sent Buff ends up top 10 in June, Isles have option to defer the pick to 2015 |

Actually Grabo made many a failed attempts to gain the zone on his own, and simply didn't think of what he wanted to do with the puck so he'd either pinch it along the boards or lose it just inside the blueline. |
