The Canucks tore their coverage apart on short seam passes. The local media call Eakin's defensive system a "swarm/overload defence" but for guys that have played nothing but man to man and zone somethin entirely new is going to take a long time to get.

I actually wonder though if Eakins knows there is a reason no teams in the NHL really play an overload defence. It can work in the AHL where the plays are generally more scrappy but you can't afford to overload and leave guys open when you're regularly up against passers like Hank and Thornton and Getzlaf.
