I was talking to my friend about that last night too, its weird that they always have less games than every one else to start the season. - peddy-93
Leafs have a weird schedule coming up. After tonight they play Saturday, then friday&saturday. |

While Kessel has 7 - honesthockey
Your argument all along has always been that Kessel plays better with Bozak than any other centre, and when someone counters it, its always about sample size. Well Kessel has 12 goals in 13 gp without Bozak as his centre. At some point you have to recognize that for the betterment of Kessel, it might be time to keep Kadri there on the top line permanently.
And I'm not a bozak hater, I think he's going to excel and do just as much (if not more, and be more appreciated) playing on the 2nd or 3rd line. And in games where Kadri is out of his element, you can always rotate back for that game. I've never believed that a static lineup is good for any team. |

Another reason they'll probably play Reimer in the back to back tonight. He's been good, then a couple days off then a week off. There's plenty of rest coming up. I think Reimer plays again tonight and Bernier steps in on Saturday against Vancouver |

So do we think JVR is a ppg player the whole season...or he tails off at about 60pts? |

Anyone else tired of looking at the standings and seeing that Boston always has games in hand that could vault them into first? Why do they always have such an easy schedule at the beginning of the season? I was hoping that they would struggle a bit with the shortened rest from their playoff run last season. But noooo they get a cake walk of a schedule for Oct. - vermie22
last year all their games were piled on at the end of the schedule..
leaf fans and writers fail to mention that
boston didnt really get themselves rolling til that last game.. it could of been a far shorter series |

I think Kessel will finish with 85-90 points....JVR and Kadri might hit the high 60s, with JVR hitting the 30 goal mark and being among the top 15 LW point-getters and a bunch of Leafs will be in the 40s and low 50s. |

People were saying Kessel would be a 30-30 60 pt guy. People also forgot he got those numbers with players who can't score (bozak, crabb).
Ever since JVR and Lupul, his assist #'s have sky rocketed and he will be a 90 pt guy. |

yes I realize that they will have a compressed portion to their season. I am too lazy to look it up, but I am guessing it will come in late March, early April when they already have a playoff spot locked up, so even if they struggle a bit, it might only affect getting home ice or not. |

I undertand there is more than just points to consider..but if you look at the players before/after Kessel, Lupul and JVR (Kadri now) its a significant increase in production. With Bozak we only have with Kessel Data. but his points stagnate. I would imagine if Bozak gets some 2/3rd line time his production will suffer ..if thats possible
Hopefully we can see a full 10 game chunk without Bozak to get a better idea of how weak Bozak is |

60 is reasonable. In the past he's shown to be a streaker so this might be on...or not, hopefully not. |

If this continues I would gladly have Kadri as the centre for Kessel. It's about the long term. Kessel is on a hot streak and it started before Kadri. Let's see what happens when it cools down. My bet is Bozak lands right back there.
