Max Talbot is going to go to Colorado and quietly play good D for them. If/when Colorado makes the playoffs and you watch them, Max Talbot will shine, because he's a playoff player. You will then wonder why he didn't play like that here.

The reason is because he did. In other words, you don't know what you have until it's gone.

I hope will all of my heart that Steve Downie scores 30 goals and raises the Cup as a Flyer this season. I really do. Just saying that, as far as Talbot goes, the grass will not look greener.

Dealt for a guy that I will admit hasnt played nearly as well after arriving in Philly. Although a player who is good on the PK and a solid 4th liner.

Why the (frank) make such a deal, when you will ALSO have to give downie a raise on the 2.65 million/year deal he has now, along with being injury prone to boot.

The problems with this team start at the top, with dumbass moves like this that they hope will ignite some magic switch in this team, and lead them to the playoffs.

Max is a good player. There are also other good players who can do what he did. Will they easily fill his skates? No, but the Flyers will find someone very much like him, I'm sure.

He didnt. He has been pretty lackluster since his first year here.

The smart long term move is to make a deal at the deadline, and see what you get for him then.

Not trade for a dumbass clown like Downie, who will need a raise from the 2.65mill he makes now, at seasons end. IF you want Downie that bad, you can make an offer for him when he hits UFA status.

The bigger issue here, Downie is a complete (frank)ing moron who risks putting your team in a hole every night he plays. More than Rinaldo. Better yet, he is injury prone and in a long group of forwards on this crew that are sub-par in their own end.

he's a good penalty killer, no question. But PK isn't a one-man show. They'll find another guy who can also do a good job.
