Haven' gotten to see much of Downie since his knee reco. Hope his skating is OK.

There's been the rumblings of Rinaldo getting a look on the PK. So we'll see...


On a side note, I love the work-ethic Hall brings, and he is a good face-off man, but I just don't think he has the foot-work and speed to be as effective as other we have.

Yeah I do. Downie is a better offensive player, but not by a margin that makes this deal make any sense at all. He's a loose cannon, that will just add to the dumb.

I don't think so. I think they want someone who can play in the top 6. Downie will be, most likely, playing on the LW anyway.

Talbot has two more years left on his deal. Perhaps with Downie, a pending UFA, Flyers liked cap flexibility moving forward..

Downie can play both wings, so it's more of an upgrade over Raffl.

This is a great deal. Downie is a younger top 6 forward. Max is a 4th liner that hasn't been the same since his broken leg. Downie will provide a little more pop & worst case has an expiring contract.
