When I saw that trade, I was sure there would be more coming with Schenn... straight up was a bad trade IMO. I thought maybe one of their Dmen like maybe Gardiner and we'd give a 3rd pick..

Schenn was good last year. The fact he has very limited offensive ability, while not being a good skater is the concern.

I really think he'll improve. Reading about him working after practice on his skating is encouraging. At least the kid has head in the right place.

Other than the Dean McAmmond thing, has Downie done anything else atrocious in the NHL? He slashed a linesman or something in the AHL maybe while he was with Norfolk? I'm not trying to force my viewpoint down anyone's throat... I just don't recall lots of incidents which would make some dislike a player so much, but I may have forgotten other things.

I don't look it at that way because as we saw just this season McGinn was on pace for about 30 goals at one point... A lot of times when a player plays more games those averages drop off.

All ifs Joe. McGinn has played a handful of NHL games. If you don't want to look at the numbers, let's look at skill level. Either way you slice it, Downie is a top 9 forward in this League.

As an player his penalty minutes per game have dropped every year over the last 3 years, he is now at about 2.2 mins per game...if he can bury the puck unlike Raffl, i will take it...
