Its only a dollar a day. - youarewrong
See, when you put it that way it seems very reasonable. So why do I still not have it?
Lucky for me tonight's game is NHL Network. |

All those guys have excellent mobility.
I'm assuming he was talking about the old-fashioned stay-at-home guys, the ones who couldn't move well, but would destroy guys in the corners and in front of the net... back when you could do those things. The kind of guy that Schenn was drafted to be. - Tomahawk

Come on. I'm not one of those that was anti-Downie, but really.... Its a minor move when this team needs a major one. |

The NBA is different than any sport. You can pretty much rule out 20 teams winning a championship before the season starts.
Needless to say, the Sixers have been one of those 20 for a looooong time. - PhillySportsGuy
I hate that poop.
That, imo, is the biggest reason that the NBA is such a joke to me. I I can't stand the fact that 2 teams will LOSE single digit games, and another team will WIN single digit games. Where's the parity?
It seems like 85% of the time, especially in the regular season, the team with thr better record wins. Take it to the bank |

Because I work with other people that are 50 something. So I do the same amount of work they do in about a third of the time.
Literally I will let them send me work all day. Takes them all day to work it. I finish it in about an hour. |

Look.
I don't think the kid is gonna score 30 goals this year, but what I do know is that he consistently goes into the dirty areas, does yeoman's work, cleans up the garbage, and plays the game hard.
This team needs that, and I'm excited to see what Downie brings. |

Still looking for someone clamoring for a major trade to list something realistic.
Not the gem i heard from my neighbor today of Giroux for that Brodeur guy because they need goal tending. |

Not argueing with you. I'm just not Giddy about it. If it was Yakupov's first games... Or Buff's....
To me it isnt much more exciting then if I got to see Straka get a shot. But I welcome what he is going to bring, no doubt. |

Simmonds, Laughton, Coburn, 2nd for Yakupov and Hemsky.
Even trade IMO. You have to give up some youth to get someone that is a number overall pick and will be a perrenial all-star. |

So I am sick today, I go to the doctor and get some prescriptions to fill. I go in to the local Rite Aid and this dumbass pharmacist lady who sucks at her job is there. I hand her the scripts, and she asks me, "Yeahhhh....do you need these by tonight?" Of course I do. So she goes, "Could you come back tomorrow? I am really busy and I am not feeling well."
What a (frank)ing idiot. She has done some really dumb stuff, but this one takes the cake. |

That's gold.. So far, our goaltending is the only upside to this craptacular season.
I have no idea how we will fix it, but with the dearth of UFA dmen, what we would need is to trade some package of youth and picks to a team with a lot of up and coming solid young two way dmen. If we don't plan for a replacement for Timonen and add another top pairing guy ASAP, we're in a lot of trouble. That's really what I think we need that component to start on the road to improvement. The fact that all of our forwards have magically forgotten how to score really worries me...I have to believe that they will come around as there is too much history of all of them being consistent scorers. |

Why not just order center ice? - youarewrong
because games here are earlier - usually during the work day and I want to be able to watch or at least have on. If the Flyers are on NBC Sports or NHL Network, will be blacked out on game center. Plus you get junior hockey, etc. Also like being able to have the pre-game Flyers show rather than just have the game start asap w/ no lead up. It gives lots of flexibility. |

Doesn't TiVo have a big start up fee? I considered getting one, I think that turned me off to it. - BulliesPhan87
The cost of the unit and then I pay 12.95 a month, no start up fee. If you aren't an original TiVo owner it's $14.99 (and 1 year initial commitment, then month to month). They do do a lifetime fee that would save you a lot over the years, but I never had that nut.
I use it mostly to record (I have the one that records 2 shows at once and you can watch a recorded one while you're doing that). There is a new Roamio that records up to 6 shows at once, up to 450 HD hours kept on tap. That's the highest-cost one though. The 4 shows 75 HD hours is under $200. They have multi-room capability, too, so you don't need one for each tv in the house. And if you have it hooked up to your home wifi you can manage remotely. I do from the office when people recommend stuff or I realize there's something I didn't think to set up. And the two higher priced ones are IOS streamable so you can watch anywhere.
If you are a Comcast subscriber, you can access InDemand from it, too. And use it with a cable card, no need for a cable box. That's what i do.
I also use it to stream Netflix and for watching YouTube. It also gives access to Hulu Plus, MLB Premium, and some other paid things I don't get (you pay the subscription service, no add'l charge to access on TiVo). And I use it to listen to Pandora sometimes, too. (It has Spotify and they add stuff as they get new agreements).
Sorry, I just love my TiVo. It's my live in boyfriend. (Don't worry, I know it runs around on me. It's ok. Sometimes you make those choices. )
But I also have a friend who writes about TV and pop culture for a living and she loves her Roku. |

Man.. I'd stop going there.. - Hextall271
She doesn't work there all the time, but every time she is there, something gets (frank)ed up. Once, it took her 2 hours to figure out how to run my insurance card. Then, earlier this month when I was sick, she said the scripts would be ready in a half our. In 40 minutes, I get a robo call from the pharmacy saying the scripts were ready. So 20 minutes after that, I go over and she says they're still not ready, give her another 45 minutes.
This lady is a moron and it's scary she's working in a pharmacy in charge of people's meds.
I should say this rite aid is directly across the street from me. After today, I walked 4 blocks to another rite aid and they filled the prescriptions no problem. They even smell good. Can you imagine? |

Couturier, Voracek, Coburn, and a 1st for Shea Weber and Criag Smith is one I've heard. |
