you dont deserve breaks when you suck - Just5
i agree but making the right call isn't a break, and i think if that one gets called and the quick whistle in the mtl game on read's 'goal' that would have made it 1-1 at the time (plus there was another HP no-call in another game) that might be 5-6 points we don't have. i think that impacts confidence as much as anything else. and before all the "bad calls happen for every team" come pouring in, i honestly don't recall turning off the TV and saying to myself "the flyers really got a huge break there" from a bad call all that often in my 40 years of watching this team |

How about the two recent goals that were not allowed for the Flyers opponents?
One kicked in and one high sticked in?
Those calls could have gone either way and both went for the Flyers. |

Ok so your perception is not the same as a fact but we can use that one and I won't even use anything based on my perception of him.

stick was above the bar and he obviously kicked that puck up. both plays went to the 'war room' and were called properly. the correct call was made on both and i don't think having non-goals disallowed is the same thing as a team scoring the go ahead goal on a hand pass. |

Downie is a jackass ? - Marc D
Pronger, Hartnell and Rinaldo are all jackasses... do you not cheer every time they chirp, face-wash, and/or put somebody on their ass?
I get that Talbot is a cute, lovable teddy bear, and Downie is like a yucky half-eaten squirrel that your cat brought home to you... but that doesn't stop the trade from making sense from an on-ice perspective.
Flyers needed a top-9 winger now, they had Hall as a healthy scratch, and they'll have Laughton coming in next season... Talbot's a nice player to have, but he was completely expendable, now and in the future. They got a nice player back for him -- I'm happy. |

My greatest hope at this point is that Ed and Paul have one more stoopid move in them before Homer resigns and they trade Claude to any team except the Pens or Devils. Then the last reason for me to care about this franchise will be gone and I can rid myself of them. - rockychocbill

Just wanted to bring this up this morning. With Hartnell's long contract and the talk about converstaions with Edmonton. Would you send Hartnell to Edmonton for Hemsky? |

I'd trade Hartsy for Ben Eager if it meant getting out from under that contract. |

Does the trade mean they are happy with their 4th line? If hall doesn't get in the lineup now then I don't know what's going in. |

That's what I don't want to find out. Bill has hall as a possible scratch. Hopefully just because he doesn't know how the line will look post-trade |

i don't see signs of ryane clowe syndrome so I'd rather wait and see if he can build up his value...and help us in the interim. |

They just traded a center who takes faceoffs, and plays on the PK. Those are things that Hall is competent at doing. Hall will be in the lineup. |

There's just no way Hall can be more disappointing than Rosehill, so it doesn't make sense if he isn't playing tonight. |

Sorry let me clear something up. I consider
Rocky Choc Bill a friend and I was speaking for him. Probably a mistake for me.
He hates the trade because he doesn't like Downey and likely feels that guys who are predators and head hunters have no reason to be in the league.
Sorry for any confusion.
Personally I am willing to give Downey a chance.
But if he turns into Matt Cooke I won't like it either.

I doubt many teams would be willing to give up a lot to get hartnell.
I'd be happy if we got a free dinner and some new ice girls. |
