Nerlens also just seems like the perfect kind of big man to play with simmons too. A freak in transition and able to cover up Ben's defensive shortcomings at the rim.

Exactly. He's pretty much the perfect insurance for Embiid.

This is why I hated bringing in Colangelo. He has no (frank)ing clue how good the players on his own team are. In the proposed Jeff Teague deal, he was going to use Covington or Stauskas as throw-ins to the deal as if those two guys are equal in any (frank)ing way. Covington is 10x better.

It would be like the Flyers saying "Pick one of Raffl or Chris Vandevelde as a throw-in to the deal."

I think if you go into it expecting to get a good role player, you'll be happier. This is just not a strong draft for star talent. There will be a good number of solid rotation players available though.
