I have one friend very similar to Crims. We went to grad school together. He lives about 1.5 miles from school in Fairmount. He has a car and refused to ever pay for parking-not even at meters. He would drive to school and park 0.5 mile off campus and walk to class. Then he'd drive home and park 0.5 mile from his house and walk home. We told him how stupid he was and that he'd be better off just riding a bike to class because it would take less time, save money and he'd be able to go door to door instead of having to walk.

For two years, he drove to and from class 3-4 days a week. During his last days in school, he finally confided in me that riding his bike was always the smarter thing to do, but since he didn't think of it, he didn't want to give my friends the satisfaction of being right.

This guy was also the only friend who always believed Noel>Okafor, so we have a bond over that and I promised to never reveal the bike thing to our friends.

when i took classes at Temple Ambler I refused to pay for parking and parked on a side street as it was literally just about the same distance from campus as the student lot.

Eventually others followed my lead and began doing the same and the neighbors got pissed and the township ended up making the street no-parking
