Sixers have a pick swap with the Kings. They'll likely have about a 40% chance of landing that pick. Nets will likely finish with about a 15-20% chance.

Then everything will be ok. Rondo will learn how to shoot, Cousins will become a great teammate and the supporting cast will really step up.

recent texts from my basketball head buddy "Eric" who was extremely anti-Russell going into last year's draft

"Jaylen Brown is the best player in the draft at SG and Jamaal Murray is the smartest guard and Malik Pope is the safest later first round pick. All will be very good for where they're picked."

and from tonight

"Dont be fooled that Simmons plays some SF occasionally at LSU, he will never play anything but PF in the nba."

I met one of the doctors who examined Bynum before the Sixers traded for him. He said he advised the Sixers not to take him. He said he told them Bynum would miss a minimum of 25 games per season over the rest of his career. He also said Stefanski was so desperate to get a star player into Philly and sell tickets that he just ignored the facts and made the deal anyway.

The Simmons thing is more tongue in cheek. I haven't seen nearly enough of him to make any serious pronouncements. He's tall, athletic, runs like a gazelle, handles the ball well and has great vision. Defensively, I saw him switch onto the point guard regularly and handled him with ease. He seemed to be more content passing the ball around than scoring, but that's a minor concern. He was getting his teammates great looks.

I would still wait and see on trades. If Embiid comes back, Saric comes to America and the Sixers draft Simmons, it may necessitate a move, but there is a small chance of all those things happening.
