His firing has only reinforced everything I felt about him.

My classes have basically been the Hinkie playbook and the drawbacks of bringing innovation to an old style. Fear truly is the motivation for what Adam Silver did to him. The league, as usual, stepped in instead of allowing the market to correct itself. There were significant negative consequences to what Hinkie was doing, but we'll never know how much of an impact they'd truly have on his ability to build the team.

The league's ousting of Hinkie was done "for the franchise," but, ironically, it was done because they believed Hinkie's plan would work and what it could do to the league if it did.
