we pretty much just picked our own numbers. it was easy for us cause goalies only wear certain numbers so not a lot of guys clamored for our 30's. they all wanted 99 and 66 for some reason.

i think i wore 31 the longest because i put it on my blocker so i was stuck with it.

I had to wear a number that was allowed by rule to play LB and FB. They were pretty limited and seniors got the first picks.

I didn't know 5 was a captain's number by tradition.
