This trade is so bad that if the Pelicans just threw in another unprotected first rounder, people would still think it was a bad deal.

It probably was Ainge trying to push his value down. Ainge is notorious for being a Richard. He leaked the Jimmy Butler rumors last year hoping it would anger and cause him to ask for a trade.

Don't worry. Ainge only closes if the deal is extremely lopsided. Chicago can hold on to Butler if they don't like the return.
