I think its time that a new hockey head come in philadelphie, this team has never been a real contender, and now they are making stupid trade, i think its time to move on from holmgreen |

Doesnt mean it isnt true. But I doubt Nashville ever asked for any sort of package. They were always ready to match the offer. |

Interesting, Couturier and all his 3 points this season, lol. - Kzak99
and backlund and all his 4 points as a second line center who is 24?
coots plays penalty minutes and is 20 years old and plays on a 3rd line.
the best part is playoff experience, i dont believe backlund has ever sniffed the playoffs, and glencross probably doesnt remember the playoffs considering he last played in them in 08-09. and has a total of 6 playoff games.
couturier had more than that in his rookie season as an 18 year old! |

And now your realizing you made a mistake. - poisondhearts37
haha just what I was about to say...now don't you look foolish ROFL
your team is terrible and these "prospects" continue to prove nothing
Monahan has shown and proven more in 10+ games than Couturier has "since he was 18"

how stupid is this? first you contend that your first observation is true ( we made a mistake) and then say there was never an intent to trade him. if they were never going to move him what do we have to regret? go get some sleep or something |

Dallas has nothing I'd want other than Nishuskin and he's probably untouchable. Luke probably stays in Philly and one of Coburn/Grossman moves on by the draft. |

Trading Schenn at this point would be simply stupid. He is young and has, barring injury, a long career ahead of him. Trading Coburn, Mez or Grossmann, sure. They are all older and the upside of there play is pretty much set. Schenn has shown how good he can be and there is still the possibility for even more. And he is a right handed shot.
But, this is Holmgren. If there is a way to make a stupid trade, he will find it. - wbon22
This is a more appropriate assessment of the situation, not what
flyguy1911 said. Who cares where they were drafted and if they've played since they were 18 if they sucked and that happens even with 1st overalls (Daigle anyone?)
You don't include Couturier or Schenn because you think there is more promise that is untapped, which you may be able to judge more than me since I don't regularly watch Flyers games....but to list where they were drafted and say that to get them you gotta start with Monahan is delusional. I would say you are way too high on 2 players that have also underachieved much like Backlund |

Haha...and what is that points per game?
DUH
Tim Jackman - 63 points
couturier- 45 career points
hence Jackman is way better than Couturier? HAHAHA good comparison dude

couturier- #8th overall in 2011. has played in NHL since he was 18. single handedly shut down malkin as a rookie in the playoffs.
schenn-5th overall pick in 2008. also played in nhl since he was 18.
both locked up until 2016 on cheap contracts.
and you want them for glencross(solid older player) and backlund(under performing previous first round pick)?
lets START with monahan, reinhart, and one of sieloff or wotherspoon if you want couturier and schenn.
we refused to give up couturier or brayden schenn for SHEA weber! - flyguy1911

i wonder if the blues are after schenn.
when i heard they were scouting philly i assumed it was for a depth d-man but schenn doesn't seem to make the most sense. |

Plus what else? I dont think thats a fair deal at all. I dont even think the KHL wants Liles and they like taking guys from the NHL. I was wondering myself about how long does a "Prospect" have until they lose theyre hype. Or I guess. How long do they have until one of them isnt worth Shea Weber ++ |

be a smart move on their part. Low risk high reward unless the asking price is stupid. |
