I'd probably go with
Coburn-Streit
Timonen-Schenn
Grossmann/Mesz-Gustafsson
But basically, I want Schenn & Gustafsson to play. If that means Grossmann and Timonen sit, I'm fine with that. - Jsaquella
Man...as well as he's played, Streit just throws a monkey wrench in there, for me. |

He's partying too hard.
Out all over the city with Hartsy every night.
C'mon people. Isn't it obvious?
I understand as a young man with a ton of money and the city by the balls it's probably very hard to reign yourself in. But if you bring us a cup you'll own the city FOREVER!!!! Think long term dummies, and in the mean time remember how much fun your 'job' is.
Tired of this. - Ferrarimn7

Turovers are not facts, at least not reliable ones. Grossmann had 3 alone in the NJ game and was given 0. Turnovers, takeaways, hits, shot blocks, etc. are all real-time facts and change from arena to arena and day to day. - jmatchett383
So did Kimmo...my point is my eyes and the numbers say something completely differenet about what we WANT to believe Kimmo is...and what he actually has been on the ice...and if you want to send a message...he is in the pressbox... |

Would have been funny if Holtby just used the goal as a barrier and Emery had to chase him around it in circles. |

Well, it's not as simple as walking down to the defenseman store and paying sticker price for a young, mobile blueliner. If a fair deal wasn't available, you can't really fault them for not jut taking whatever's available.
Because they did, and that's how we got Mark Streit. - BulliesPhan87
Hainsey and Gilbert move great, and were available late into the summer.
Liles, as our friend above repeatedly states, was being given away.
Mark Streit wasn't the only fish in the sea... they just pulled another Bryzgalov by wading into the market too soon and missing out on all the value buys. |

Speaking of fights, I finally saw the punch that Downie took from Volpatti.

Lu has definitely won me over the past few months. Not that I ever hated him or anything, but I'd say I'm as big a fan as a guy who doesn't watch the Canucks can be. |

Agreed. That deal that Carle signed in Tampa isn't looking so awful now.

Yeah, but remember Hainsey waited forever to sign because he was asking $4.5M. Flyers couldn't wait on that. |

And i still think Alt need a cup of coffee to see how he does...i don't care if he can survive if the team is flying high, i want to see what he can do when the season is on the line...maybe he needs more work, maybe he is the puck mover we need...but as long as he is onthe Phantoms, we can wonder while the lottery pick gets closer...in our own building... |

I have no issue calling him up (if place of a "skill" guy) for a few games here and there. |

Yeah, but it's a case where being over aggressive cost the team...they get burned by it, and yet never seem to have a second thought...it's a double edged sword.
I'm not saying Hainsey is great, but a 1 year deal at $2mm is better than Streit at his hit/length |

Maybe Gilbert and Hainsey didn't want to play here? Liles has two years left on his contract, so I'm not upset over that one. I'm not a fan of the Streit signing, so don't look for me to sit here and debate it for twelve pages with you. |

At the same time, if they'd waited, who's to say Hainsey wouldn't be able to use them as another bargaining chip?
I agree about not like the trading for FA rights. And I don't like the term of the Streit deal. But I don't think Hainsey makes a difference. |

Waiting isn't necesarily the best thing, but when you are too aggressive and end up bidding against yourself, it's not good...and it happens to the Flyers too often. |
