He might not...but so far, Streit hasn't made one either. - Jsaquella
This.
Worst part is, this is the best we're ever going to see from Streit. By the second-half of his contract, we'll be begging for the 2013-14 version of Kimmo back. |

Waiting isn't necesarily the best thing, but when you are too aggressive and end up bidding against yourself, it's not good...and it happens to the Flyers too often. - Jsaquella
No doubt. I do think a lot of people take advantage of retrospect to bang the "Holmgren is inept" drum unfairly, but this front office has willingly put itself in bad negotiating positions in recent years. Some of that falls on the owner, some on the GM, but either way it's not great for business. |

I prefer it to a team that does nothing but wait, but sometimes it's not good to be the gunslinger, rushing in. |

Again, the biggest issue the Flyers face on defense is moving the puck up the ice. Grossmann is less adept at it than Timonen. Both have warts and neither has played especially well...Grossmann's shot totals may well be inflated due to his being a poor possession player, which hurts the offensive output.
I'm not defending Timonen. I think he's been horrible. But I don't feel Grossmann has been some stalwart that they can't do without, either. - Jsaquella
Funny enough Grossmann's stats are better than Timonen's |

Word from Ek is that Flyers front office are looking for some decisive wins against some cupcakes coming up or else major changes are on the way |

Timonen has been worse than any of them. That's obvious. The Flyers aren't going to scratch him. |

Would have been funny if Holtby just used the goal as a barrier and Emery had to chase him around it in circles. - jmatchett383

They are...but as bad as Timonen's been, he's still a better possession player than Grossmann...and that's where the issue lies for me.
My basic point is, I'd rather see Gustafsson and Schenn playing. I'd have no issue at all if that meant Timonen and Grossmann were sitting. |

Pretty obvoius. They aren't paying these forwards what theure paying them to win 1-0 games. |

Agree with that assessment, I just think that Gus can better fit in for Kimmo to move the puck, that having Grossman out of the line up for anyone else...I think Coburn and grossman have been our best Defensemen, Schenn , next then it is has been a pretty big drop off and you could swap any of our guys in to see how they fit...that is my take on bringing Alt...I agree there would be some risk in that, but he is much further along in his development then say Morin...i see Alt as being a Read type player...he has been playing a while, he is not an 18 year old head case...he is 22, and played a full tour in college, so he has a bit more experience than a 2/3 year junior player...
Just saying it should be considered since the team can't play worse... |

I like how one poster called Giroux the "self proclaimed best player in the world". I mean, who cares if it was Laviolette that made that comment? Giroux's so full of himself! |

If a team needs their GM to come down between periods and rip them (as he did on Friday), I think it's safe to say the GM is gonna make some moves. |
