I don't think people are giving up on him. If anything he gets more of a pass then most because Flyers fans really want him to succeed. But the team is bad and people are frustrated. You have to understand that.

3rd line, no chance at the top 6 on a terrible team thus far

Its not the same situation, but to completely give them a pass isnt what a lot of people will do.

The whole "they are young" thing is fine and all, but MANY players come into the league, or at the age Coots/BSchenn are at, contribute in more ways.

My personal favorite was the 'mini-stick' crap w/ Pitkanen... we'd all kill for a homegrown 40+ pt dman right now, but we had no trouble chasing that guy out of town all over something as inane as an unconventional equipment preference.

JVR also showed a hell of a lot more than either one of these kids. Not getting into this rocko, we have our own thoughts.

I am just not as "high" on Coots/BSchenn. It has nothing to do with a "Flyer Fan Mentality" but more so my thoughts on the specific players.

He had one goal while coots marked him and the only reason he got it was because Malkin went the other way when coots went in on a short handed rush......that's why you have to hear about it
