Glad I'm not the only one that keeps forks and knives in my shirt pocket...

So...if the Leafs were to make a trade for a centre, who is available? And/or who should they target?
- BoBBeR56

Not sure to be honest....like a few others mentioned, Id say Nonis goes after a third liner/utility guy. As per Dreger:

For the right player, the Maple Leafs might be willing to pay such a price, however, it's more likely Toronto uses its depth on the blueline or utilizes draft picks in a less significant trade to plug the holes.

The search has basically just begun and while the Leafs need help up front, in the meantime, head coach Randy Carlyle appears willing to be creative to fill the void, which explains James van Riemsdyk centering a line with Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul Monday in practice.

There's no sense of panic in Toronto, but, there is a keen interest in making a trade to help ease the strain.

Jvr is miles better defensively than Kadri, and miles better offensively than McClement. Add the chemistry with kessel and it would be silly to break them up.
- Big_Lightnin

I don't think JVR is miles better than Kadri defensively, and being good defensively as a winger on the Leafs team, means standing at the hash marks and flipping the puck over the D's head when they pinch. lots more to the job at the C position.

Well, JVR gets a lot more time on the PK than Kadri.

If Kadri plays very bad, then they could be doomed but I don't think that will happen. With the Metro division being this bad, the Leafs would have to screw up a lot for that to happen.
