I am a Flyers fan so I obviously had to bring up Richards as an example, but I know there are many more examples around the league of players who have started their careers on the 4th line.

No matter how bad the Flyers are playing right now, they are still my team! I am a die hard Flyers fan! I always will be! Like some people on this site seem to find it easy to do... I will not give up on them! I hope that they don't give up on the fans!

Watching hockey central up here in Kanida..they are saying that PK Subban is not really happy with the way he is being treated in Mtl. I can't remember if he is a UFA or not, but if he is, I would be all over trying to acquire him. Mtl would be fools to lose him, and I say it's 80% certain he would stay, but if he is a UFA and wants to test the market, I'd throw the farm at him.

Because it does Mcginn no good to play there. Why have him play 10 minutes a game when he can get top line minutes in the minors to get better. Look at Coots, he spent his career on the 3rd line and he isn't improving much. Young players need to play. You waste their potential on 3rd and 4th lines because those lines don't get much ice time

With the signing of Vinny (which I think was a good move, btw), you have the top two centre spots locked in for the next 5 years.

Sure, you can always switch guys to the wing - but I'm just wondering if the question was asked of Holmgren when he signed Vinny?

I usually have something to do while watching the game these days. If things go south tonight (and at this point, I think every game has the very real potential for disaster), I'll probably go back to building my new(ish) guitar.

They need a "Best Performance of 5 Minutes or Less" Academy Award.

Sutherland in Backdraft - oh boy, still gives me the creeps.

When the Flyers stink like this, I usually try to find something constructive to do while watching so I don't feel like simply punching a hole in the wall.

We just moved into a new home so I cant do that. Instead we watch sci fi series on DVD ( last year was Star trek DSP either 7 or 9 years, and now on Andromeda) and go to the Reading Royals games as we got season tix.

Unfortunately we discovered some shows missing from the on demand out here that were on Comcast, mainly BBC America

Oh and we watch some other real teams on the NHL package, NBCSC and NHL networks.

When is Philly getting an NHL team, cause right now we have two bad AHL teams

I try to bass my feelings in reality. I won't fret if they lose (what else is new?), but I wouldn't mind a win, to help pick up the spirits. Of course, right now the team looks like somebody pulled the power chord, so I'll scale back my expectations.

I didn't have time to check.. that does blow, but it sounds like they are starting to piss him off.. Therrien cut his ice time last game.. I don't think that's wise.

Watching Hockey central was talking how much pressure is on Giroux right now..they compared him to Malkin in that Malkin only has 3 goals, but Pitt is winning so there is less pressure. They mention that Giroux is now an 8 mil guy who is the guy we look to to get us out of this downward spiral.

If you're asking if there's some kind of thoughtful plan in place, then no. They seem to just bring in whoever they want and worry about fit/future later.

Im gong to say something ive never said but I would rather watch the commercials during the Oregon vs Stanford game tonight than watch the Flyers/Devs game. Im going to watch because its in my DNA and its what I do but DAMN!!!
