A powerful teacher of lessons such as, "You're not good enough, bumhole. You probably won't ever be, either." - BulliesPhan87
you know what that can be a great motivator for some to rise to the occassion. Let the kids get a taste and see what they have to work on....to be honest i dont want bumholes with fragile psyches....the cream will always rise to the top. |

Funny, McGinn has 24 games played in the NHL and has 6 goals, +1, 23 PIMs. Say what you want that he is not productive in some games, but he has been over the course of 24 games, many in which is was pushed to the 4th line.
This year he is the type of player that you want to see over the long haul IMO. He chips in offensively, doesn't hesitate to help a teammate and doesn't take "Hartnell" type penalties.
The Flyers suck, let some young guys play.
The team is so bad a guy that play 6 games is still tied for #2 on your team in goals. LoL - flyers2001
They need Rosehill in the lineup. He gives great mssages during intermission. |

wow so Barkan just said take the C away from G and maybe you can give it to someone like Simmonds of Vinny. Ok no offense to Simmonds but SIMMONDS? (frank)ing idiot - nastyflyergirl
He is the TV version of Cataldi. Just an idiot trying to get the fans going. |

Honeslty, I'm glad you're not making the decisions. And that's saying something, considering how well things are going for the decision makers we have right now. |

Agreed. the media said he was ont he block so it's true. - jmatchett383
I think you also have to make a logical assumption in there as well. Might be asking to much though. Edmonton needs Defense and Goalies. They have an embarassment of riches in young forwards.... Hall, Eberle, RNH, Gagner... and Yakupov. If they need to move someone from those players to address the needs they have, who is more likely? The guy that was just sat, and not signed to a friendly multi-year deal. |

its amazing that some of the veterans disappear over long stretches, make blatant mistakes and stop moving their feet game in and out and a kid like McGinn constantly gets sent down for an unever performance. it frustrates me so much. |

You guys really sound like you want the team to get together and hug it out. F that. These are hockey players, not sensitive little boys who can't handle an insult.
No wonder our team is a joke. |

You know what, I can't do this. It seems all logic and rational thought has been thrown out the door for dream trades and player damnation. I'll stop back in a week when perhaps a sense or reason has returned. - jmatchett383
A lot of it is verbatim the complaints about Richie, Carts, et al during the low point of the 2009-10 season. Trade everybody, take the C away, these guys have no heart, bring up the whole AHL squad, etc.
Disclaimer: I am in no way claiming this team will have that kind of turn around. We don't even have a Michael Leighton waiting in the rafters. |

Thats the problem w/management. Timonen isn't gonna play forever & neither was Pronger, even if he didn't get hurt. These young Dmen take 3-5 years to develop and thats on the quick end of the scale. There is no plan, no prospects in the pipeline. If they were trading Carter and Richards, they should've done a full rebuild, not this patchwork BS. - flyguy12
But again, even if Pronger and Timonen do begin to fade, they still had Meszaros, Carle, and Coburn whom all looked like decent to above decent players... like they would be able to pick up the load... As we know now that didnt happen, but you couldn't have foreseen this. |

The "No, means no!!" chants that follow him wherever he goes are priceless. - Tomahawk
Actually, if I remember correctly it was statutory rape he was convicted of. He was late teens 19 or possible early 20’s and the girl was 17. It wasn’t that she wasn’t a willing participant it was that she was under age.
Not justifying it, but it wasn’t forcible rape.
Correction: She was 15, he was 17. |

question....on the devils first goal read was playing right wing and was down below the face off dot, maybe even at teeh bottom of the circle, watching the devil behind our net with the puck, leaving the left point WIDE open.whoever had the puck for teh devils saw this an djust wrapped the puck up the boards to the point who shot it, it was tipped and 1 zip.
is read suppossed to be down that low? theres no way he can get out to his point to block that shot or take the shootng lane away.. |

Here's a thought
They are NOT making the playoffs this year no matter what moves they make so I would rather see them do the following:
1. Fire Holmgren, replace with Hextall. Time for a new man at the helm
2. Wait til the deadline to move as many vets as possible, that is when you will get the most for them.
3. At the end of the season, hire Dave Poulin as head coach with Terry Murray as associate coach, the only assistant coach they should keep is Lappy. Offer Berube the head coaching spot in Allentown, this mess is not his fault.
4. Do NOT trade picks and young prospects, realize that it will take a couple of years to fix this mess and the way to do it is to build through the draft. It would be foolish to give up boatloads of high picks, young players, and top prospects to get 28-31 year old top pair dmen. HAVE PATIENCE!

It really isn't mental. As a whole, the lineup they iced tonight is simply too slow, with and without the puck, to win hockey games at this level.
It's not an insult or indictment to anyone. But there's no mental block in place. The team simply isn't good enough to win. You can mitigate some of that with good coaching and if we had heavy doses of skill in a few more spots on the roster, but we don't.
Somebody's got to pick first overall, second overall, so on and so forth. We're just that team right now. - AllInForFlyers
It blows me away to see a team just turn to poop in what I thought was going to be a good year with the three new addtions. The stats on guys like Giroux, Hartnell, Simmonds, Couturier, Schenn to name a few are hard to believe. In the last 40 or so games they have all totally lost their game. I wish I knew the answer but the future is not looking too good. I managed to trade Giroux for E. Staal in my keeper pool and got a late pick for Hartnell. I hated to do it but I just could not watch my star player 28 do nothing. Staal is not doing much either but at least his team is winning. |
