Here's a thought
They are NOT making the playoffs this year no matter what moves they make so I would rather see them do the following:

1. Fire Holmgren, replace with Hextall. Time for a new man at the helm

2. Wait til the deadline to move as many vets as possible, that is when you will get the most for them.

3. At the end of the season, hire Dave Poulin as head coach with Terry Murray as associate coach, the only assistant coach they should keep is Lappy. Offer Berube the head coaching spot in Allentown, this mess is not his fault.

4. Do NOT trade picks and young prospects, realize that it will take a couple of years to fix this mess and the way to do it is to build through the draft. It would be foolish to give up boatloads of high picks, young players, and top prospects to get 28-31 year old top pair dmen. HAVE PATIENCE!

Actually, if I remember correctly it was statutory rape he was convicted of. He was late teens 19 or possible early 20’s and the girl was 17. It wasn’t that she wasn’t a willing participant it was that she was under age.

Not justifying it, but it wasn’t forcible rape.

Last night was bad. Just over the top WTF bad.

It blows me away to see a team just turn to poop in what I thought was going to be a good year with the three new addtions. The stats on guys like Giroux, Hartnell, Simmonds, Couturier, Schenn to name a few are hard to believe. In the last 40 or so games they have all totally lost their game. I wish I knew the answer but the future is not looking too good. I managed to trade Giroux for E. Staal in my keeper pool and got a late pick for Hartnell. I hated to do it but I just could not watch my star player 28 do nothing. Staal is not doing much either but at least his team is winning.

Possible deadline moves, assuming some of these guys are willing to waive NTC/NMCs

1. Mezaros to anyone for anything

2. Timonen to Colorado for a 2nd in 2014 and a 3rd in 2015

3. Lacavalier to St. Louis for a 1st in 2014 and a 2nd in 2015

4. Hartnell to Montreal for a 3rd in 2014 or 15, Montreal's choice. When you consider his current contract, that's the most you will get for him.

5. Emery to LA for a 3rd in 2014 or 15, LA's choice. They will want a reliable backup for Quick heading into the playoffs

6. Grossmann to Anaheim for a 2nd in 2014 and a 4th in 2015

I can't see anyone interested in Streit due to his contract/age and I would most likely keep Coburn since he is the only vet dman that can actually skate.

I think the Flyers should practice without footwear this week. Maybe once they get frostbitten feet they'll appreciate skating again!

I think the Flyers should literally put management on the ice for the rest of the games. They'll learn what conditions they're putting guys in when they make decisions!

I think the Flyers should ice the "mites on ice" kids for the third period from now on. Let the kids get a taste of the NHL, get them ready for a bright hockey future today!

I think the Flyers should sign Nickelback to play on Giroux's line!

I think Flyers management should be replaced with the most restless natives on this forum, since obviously they know the secret tricks to fixing this franchise!

Although at this point the US women's hockey team could probably do a better job out there.

Hartnell will be hard to trade, make him the highest paid grinder in the league
Emery is a ufa and somebody will have interest in him, he is not the problem
Grossman is tradeable but who replace him
Streit is useless and Coburn has mental issues that do not match his skill set
