giroux for RNH? - 2Real
If we , gods forbid, trade Giroux to Edmonton the only player I'd trade him straight up for is Taylor Hall.
That's it. There can be no discussion. |

A pall's been cast over Flyer Nation!
That rotten stench of desperation!
Trade the Schenns, strip the C!
We'd be far better off with Zarley Zalapski!
No goals, no hustle, no heart on their sleeve!
This soulless display will never reprieve!
Suggestions abound to get them on track!
Firesales, Byfuglien, call-ups, THE YAK!
But now the news is Jordan Eberle!
(I'm far too speechless to respond cleverly!)
Once again we knee-jerk react!
This team's never hired a sensible didact!
For once, my wish, is to let it ride,
Their struggle is more than a typical snide,
Hush the vehemence that's constantly shrilled,
And consider the wisdom: You never go full rebuild. - countreeman28
You sir, are a Wordsmith.

So people want to trade 2 or 3 roster players and maybe a pick or prospect for 1 player? How in the world is 1 player going to come in here and fix this offensive mess? I don't think Gretzky alone in his prime could fix this. It's not going to be fixed by one single player. This is a collective mess were in, I believe also the kids we thought were going to come up and be productive and had skill in the front offices' minds were highly over rated.
Also in Garth's blog anyone see how he states the flyers goaltending is a joke?? Brutal brutal Our goaltending has been outstanding imho - Buzzo
What players were supposed to "come up and be productive"?
Agreed on the goaltending but you hear it all the time outside of Philly. It's like cheesesteaks, snowballs and booing santa. |

We all should be -- I can't tell, sometimes, when people are joking. But if people are serious, please, just stop it.
Claude Giroux is part of the solution, not part of the problem. The guy has 55 points in 50 playoff games, for gosh sakes. I don't even know how the thought of trading this guy, stripping him of his captaincy...I truly don't understand it. He's 25 years old.
Oh, my gosh. I can't believe I'm even typing this. I cannot believe there is a single person who truly believes that Claude Giroux is really the problem here. |

He's clearly not the problem, but he isnt running on all cylinders. Perhaps he needs a new spark plug, maybe thats Eberle |

55 points in 50 playoff games..
A point per game player over the past 3 seasons.
14 bad games , lets strip the C and trade him.
I am 100% against trading Giroux and I don't get people that ignore what he has done to this point based on this season alone.
Giroux and Voracek are the only 2 players with dynamic offensive skill on this team. Their is not a single other player that is close to a dynamic offensive player and that is the problem. |

The answer is not trading giroux. But the wheels on a full rebuild need to be set in motion. One that may take 3-4 years. Here's my initial assessment
Besides the total overhaul the front office needs
1. By the deadline. Trade
Hartnell and timonen for anything you can get
Lecavalier for a 1st +
One of grossman or L schenn for anything you can get
Stockpile draft picks and bring in bad expiring contracts over the next 2 years in order to help facilitate trades
2. Sign filler free agents this summer to 1 and 2 year deals. Cheap veterans and to mix in with the rest of the kids.
3. The search should be on now for a teaching coach for younger players
Rebuild starts now

I agree with you.
If it was me my Flyers protected list today would be Giroux, Voracek, Mason, all our 1st and 2nd round picks and all of our prospects below the AHL level.
Everything else is on the table. |

Somebody should be booing the idiot press for asking such stupid questions.
"Hey, the team is slumping right now. Do you hear the boos?"
Great question. Just sit back and wait for an insightful answer which will probably pave the way for Giroux to get out of his slump.
I wonder if the team is going to take it one game at a time, and focus on doing the little things right... |

Yeah. This is silly. I they can poach a guy like eberle for someone less talented in a hockey trade do it. We can't keep shifting gears by trading our talented youth. |

That has happened 1 time since Giroux became a full time player.
You want to move him based on 14 games.
Other want to keep him based on 3 regular seasons and 50 playoff games.

The Flyers have Downie, Hartnell and Simmonds in their top 9 forwards right now.
Too much toughness and penalties, not nearly enough skating and goal scoring. |

It just amazes me that hartnell and simmonds forgot how to score. Still like the downie trade. |

To be fair, we haven't really gotten a look at this team with Downie for more than a minute. #nitpick |
