Just hope this team stays healthy throughout the season so we can close in on a top 3 pick. God knows what might happen if AHLers come up to play.

Kind of fearing a sell off if it means calling up players with spines.

The constant line juggling doesn't do anyone any good. Hard to have faith in a coach that seems to be unable to settle on lines and juggles everything. No way to build cohesion or chemistry

As recently as seven months ago he was a very solid second pairing guy playing 20 minutes+ a night.

Giroux is a third line grinder based solely on his play this season.

I agree, but I just dont see the talent on this team. It could just be that simple as there just not good enough. Line juggling is the act of a coach who got no other moves

There's no way you're going to get chemistry if you use a Yahtzee dice cup every morning to choose your lines. Even if there's a bad game or two, you can't just keep changing things every single day.

I get the frustration, but you're not going to get anywhere if you don't build let chemistry develop

Just a thought... What if we swapped coots to the top line center and moved g to 3rd line center to get him away from other teams top checking line? Maybe get g going and give coots chance to play with hartnell/checky to see if he has some offense? For more than a game too maybe like 7 games. Thoughts

Yes. And apparently he's supposed to be playing like a 28-year-old #1.

Playing like a 23 y/o minor leaguer imo

Does Smid and this years 1st get the Oilers Coburn and McGinn? I'd be inclined to ask for a 3rd or something from the Flyers as well, but I may hold a bit of a bias.

Serious? I dont think it matters what number you put on Giroux line, the other team will still check him the same way...

i always thought the line designation was based primarily off of the top player (usually a center). if you were a coach, wouldnt you just shift your concern to whenever giroux is out there? regardless of whatever line you want to call it.

In the eyes of Oilers managment, Eberle will be an Oiler forever. Forever is a long time, but, he's not a trade target.

Would it still work if I were to add a 3rd coming from Philly? How about a 2nd?

Flyers fans are past getting angry. They're starting to get apathetic. The Flyers are turning into the Oakland Raiders of the NHL.

Ok move coots to top line. Put g with rosehill and newbury. Would other teams still consider this team phillys top line?

A 2nd I'd be wary of.

Still doin it for a 3rd. Can't guarantee EDM does though.....

I suggested him as a possible target a few weeks ago, but I can't see the Oilers being willing to move him unless the Flyers included guys who were considered untouchables a few weeks ago.
