If Ilya Bryzgalov walks in off the street and shuts the Flyers out tomorrow, that would make the 7-0 railing we took last week feel like a freaking back massage from three Thai hookers - AllInForFlyers
Or else it could be the perfect breakout game for the Flyers. What better motivation than to humiliate the goalie nobody could stand the last couple of years? |

I actually think this could work. Bryzgalov complained about Philly's defensive system and the Oilers don't have one of those so no worries. |

Comparing the flyers players to a first overall pick is not even close. At the very worst yakupov will still be better the schenn and counts T their best. - youarewrong
You're assuming a lot. Being #1 is no guarantee of anything.
B Schenn, 5th overall.
L Schenn, 5th overall.
Voracek, 7th overall.
Couts, 8th overall. |

If somebody put a gun to my head and asked me which was more likely to happen, the Flyers scoring three goals on Bryzgalov or Bryzgalov shutting us out, I sure as hell wouldn't bet on the Flyers scoring three goals

You have to go back to 1999 for the last time a forward selected 1st overall didn't become at the minimum an allstar player. And only 2 forwards since before 1990. I think the odds are with yakupov. |

Before Giroux accepted the ''C'', he called his junior coach to ask him if he would be a good captain.
His best season, 2 years ago playing with Jagr and Hartnell and without the ''C'', he seemed loose, happy and like he was enjoying every second of it.
True the team was winning and the points were coming but I think splitting the captaincy with Vinny wouldn't be a bad idea.
He's not comfortable and seems highly irritated with the media, and having co-captains with him and Lecavalier may be an option that takes a bit of pressure and tension off his shoulders.
He has to let loose and enjoy the game again. The pressure of a massive new contract, being the face of the franchise, the C and anwering the same questions over and over again isn't helping him focus on what he loves to do. Focus on hockey and enjoy the game you played all your life.
Business, pressure and the perceived responsibility of the whole team and the flyers record isn't facilitating him just going out there like a kid born to be creative and have fun playing the game he loves. |
