It'll be interesting to see them for sure. I hope in February we aren't talking about this anymore and we are thinking playoff run, but if nothing changes then it's a great opportunity to get another look at these guys before next year. Sounds like cousins could be an interesting player. I wonder if he can put it all together in the NHL. - funmaster18
Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs. Are you kidding me? Playoffs?!?! I'm just hoping we can win a game! |

Thou shalt not speak ill of Freddie Meyer IV. Best hip checks ever.
Of course, the fact that he threw so many checks meant he was horrible at puck possession, right? |

Of course not. Even the beats who try to make mountains of molehills haven't been able to manufacture discussion of such a thing. He was happy after a win with a better team playing better. What a shock. - bodiva88
I'm pretty sure this is where it all started. Talk about whisper down the lane
"Playing in Pittsburgh for so long and in my first year in Philly, we made the playoffs every year and you kind of get used to that," he said. "It was kind of a battle last year and again this year. Now I get traded to a team that has a great deal of momentum right now. It's exciting. They're on top of the League and there's a reason for that. They're a young team. They have a deep roster with a lot of young skill and they should be good for years to come."

He was brutal.
Although, iirc, didn't he play sorta, kinda, okay after he was traded/waived/released with the islanders? |

He should be getting time in the AHL. I don't think he's ready for the NHL, despite having one really nice pass a week and a half ago. But right now, he's the bets option we have. |

He played really well for them for a few weeks and everyone jumped on board. Then he played like Freddy Meyer IV. |

Bill, please please please please for the love of GOD please fact check how many " closed door players only meetings" has this team had in the last 2 or 3 years? What a joke!!!! |

I honestly think he is the worst player to ever wear a Flyer jersey. And I've been watching them since 1970.
Okay, no more Freddie Meyer talk. |

Interesting Facts:
Flyers have not beat any teams over five hundred this year...
Only 7 of their games have been against teams over 500.....
Imagine when they have a string of games against opponents over 500...this team sucks |

So we're dedicating 67 games to see if two bubble defensemen can play in the NHL? That's just the most terrific attitude I've ever heard.
What do we do with the rest of the team? Just run them out there as support until we know where Schenn and Gustafsson eventually fit on a last place team?
Just wonderful...

I think the Flyers have very good forwards that all teams would be interested in acquiring. But in the modern NHL the forwards need the Dman to be able to clear the zone and quickly move the puck on the attack.
Everyone may be looking like they are not playing very good. But, it is the back end that is really killing the Flyers. |

The Flyers held a closed-door team meeting after the game. When the locker room doors opened, club president Ed Snider was in conversation with Claude Giroux just outside the locker room. Giroux ultimately left without speaking to reporters.
And (in bold), here's one of the problems - puckhead17
you know, Snider has been a great owner over the years and I GREATLY appreciate how he has always been willing to spend money even to make players go away. I appreciate that he used his own money to build an arena (yes he got the land from the city but still). I appreciate that the way the Flyers treat players has always made this a place free agents want to come to. BUT Snider, in my view, is a large part of the problems these days and I really wish he would step aside. Ryan Bright stated it well yesterday. |

He had 2 nice passes last night, one to G, the other to Couts...of course neither of those guys knew what to do with it. Raffl would likely benefit from more ice time down in the AHL, but for a player that just came over to North America a few months ago, I think he's doing quite well. He pursues the puck, has good vision, takes the body, etc. He's one of the few bright spots on this team for me. And on the money to effort ratio, Raffl is at the top. |
