I think the Flyers have very good forwards that all teams would be interested in acquiring. But in the modern NHL the forwards need the Dman to be able to clear the zone and quickly move the puck on the attack.
Everyone may be looking like they are not playing very good. But, it is the back end that is really killing the Flyers. - spatso

a Pitkanen from the 2006 team with 39 assists would help |

I don't have any answers for you. My only point was I don't get the clamoring for McGinn, that's all. - funmaster18
I'm not saying he is the savior of this team not by a long shot, but somebody else should be playing and not Raffl. At this point I don't care who it is, just sit as many of the "regulars" as possible. |

He had 2 nice passes last night, one to G, the other to Couts...of course neither of those guys knew what to do with it. Raffl would likely benefit from more ice time down in the AHL, but for a player that just came over to North America a few months ago, I think he's doing quite well. He pursues the puck, has good vision, takes the body, etc. He's one of the few bright spots on this team for me. And on the money to effort ratio, Raffl is at the top. - wolfhounds
Yes, he's doing quite well right now all things considered. But he should be in the AHL. |

That's my opinion as well. He's showing me more than Simmonds, Hartnell, and Jake and G on most nights. |

Call up the Phantoms and sit the Flyers. Lose 7-0 instead of 3-0. Destroy any/all confidence in AHL team by placing all young players in positions to fail. Solid plan. |

Technically, the Flyers are an AHL team this season, so there's that...
He's getting his initiation into the NHL by fire. |

Whoa whoa whoa. This team has iced Billy Tibbets. - jmatchett383
You got me.....
Although Tibbets was a small sample size. And he could at least fight. What did he last, 1 game? 2? |

He was a convicted felon who should never have been brought over, He played 9 games and had like 70 PIM. He was booed, LOUDLY, by home fans. They guy was a rapist and should have been in prison. |

If I hadoto choose between 10 years of terrible teams and boring games with a chance to win a cup toward the end of the 10 years or have an exciting team that battles all year and entertains us... I'mtaking the latter.
I don't work for the Flyers, nor do I treat hockey as anything other than what it is. Entertainment. This is not entertaining. |

Two words. One name.
Connor McDavid.
Just have two more years of this crap on ice show.
In all seriousness. I am truly worried about this club. - jak521
If I was confident in the GM not to trade away picks and to guild this team the right way I would be just fine with losing for 2-3 years to build this back up and believe me, as a lonnnnnggg time fan, its hard to keep seeing other teams win and dying to see a cup here. I want this done the right way. Yes, its Nov and I am thinking trade deadline and that is SAD but I really don't see this group turning things around. I could be wrong and I hope I am but I am losing faith. I don't get how they can play like they did in the first period and a half against a very good ducks team then look as inept as they have since. It boggles my mind
I would take whatever I could get for every UFA. Maybe keep Downie if you can get something for Simmonds or Hartnell (not that I remotely think that can happen). I would think knowing Timonen is probably playing his last season, he would be willing to waive at the deadline to get that last shot at a cup and I hope he gets it. its too soon to call guys up now as you still have to try to win but by March i want to get a look see at some of the Phantoms. I'd call McGinn up now and just let the kid play even if its on the 4th line. God I'd love to see a 4th line with the likes of a healthy wellwood centering Raffl or Mcginn and Rinaldo.
I am so frustrated with this team. I won't stop watching but I am becoming numb to the losses and that in itself says a lot. |

The goal of every hockey team is to win a Stanley Cup. I doubt many players or fans go, "Well, we lost, but at least we were exciting." |

Who do we have in the AHL that even has the skillset to become a fill time NHLer anyway?

I was just saying there have been FAR WORSE players than Meyer. Tibbets is the lock (to me) for worst. |

I honestly think he is the worst player to ever wear a Flyer jersey. And I've been watching them since 1970.
Okay, no more Freddie Meyer talk. - Briere
If Freddie Meyer were to meet you in person, he'd grab a step stool, step up on it, and look you right in the eye and tell you that you're wrong. |

Fair point. Once these guys are set for life they lose their work ethic. - PLindbergh31
you know who hasn't done that? Crosby. Yes, he is the enemy so i can't stand him but I greatly appreciate the great player he is and beyond that, the fact the guy works his tail off every game. Ugh I feel like I need to take a shower now. |

The Kevin Stevens era in Philly was also pretty bad. |
