If this is your way of saying the oilers won't even consider acquiring Reimer, than I agree. - Morris
Exactly no way Nonis is giving away Reimer on the cheap and the Oil don't have the balls to spend assets needed to acquire very good/elite talent. |

I think you are over valuing Liles contract concerns and under valuing Reimer, we are in a squeeze yes, but Liles is a 40+ point a year D man, not like he's Komisarek and useless. He's actually a servicable D man and one the Oil could use, badly. - Boosinicka
I don't think Liles can play at that level anymore. The Oilers don't need a guy that used to score 40 points, we've had plenty of those guys. If Liles is a 40+ dman, then Hemmer is a PPG winger. |

Virtually all goalies are a product of the defense put in front of them.
A solid D can make an average goalie good or a good goalie great.
Granted guys like Quick,Rinne can steal you some games when the team is playing poor, but overall I think you will find, unless you have at least a competent D playing in front of them, no goalie is going to find long term success.
On a different note, was there ever an unofficial player list of what Edmonton offered for Bernier?
After watching Frattin so far this season, a bag of pucks might have been worth more. |

So how does EDM fix their problems if they aren't willing to trade anything of real value?

Yeti, what would you want from the Oil for Reimer? I can't see anything too enthralling... maybe a 1st & Klefbom? I think it would take something in that range to make Nonis listen. - Boosinicka
1st at this time would be too much. Maybe Gagner and klefbom for Reimer and a second. |

The Oil and Leafs are not trade partners. Leafs need D , and the Oil have none to spare. Gagner or another forward has no use on the leafs roster (look at our contracts).
A 3 way deal, i can see. |

had to bookmark one of cloutier's blogs because it had a great paragraph in it.
I think Craig MacTavish is doing very well as the GM and the Oilers will be a playoff team next spring. His summer isn't over, but I have confidence he'll get the moves done he needs to. It's going to be a great season. |

gagner is useless to the buds. It's like us adding another goalie |

we need a short term center, not one you have to give up assets for. If anything, we would have to move a center, and the only one we could possibly move would be kadri |

OK Ryan, who will you give up for Jonas Hiller. Remember that the Ducks and the Oilers are in the same division now you're going to have to overpay a little. |

I can't believe u posted the game vs Isles haha we all can't stand Nabby. U guys played him the one game his save % was over 90 he is at 89.7% for the season. I would trade you Nabby for a 6th round pick, not cause I think he is terrible ( he is atrocious rite now) I would make the deal cause coach fred flinstone could then be forced to start Poulin. |

BOOM- Tampa is a poopty team- we dominated play but lost cause of a couple turnovers and poop goaltending AGAIN!!!!!!! amazing how 1 (frank)ing guy determines wins and losses... Lets send horcoff and co with video over to see if we can coax Kipper to make a comeback!!! |

As an outsider, RNH and eberle are the real deal. Hall is the most skilled, but he is a dumb hockey player. I love Hall and his compete level, and again, he is the most talented but he doesn't make guys around him better, where as eberle and RNH do. Yak, is completely useless. Worst part is, he will be a stud somewhere, just not in Edmonton. Just my 2 cents, i've seen 6 oil games this year and that's the conclusion i've come to. Mind you i was drunk for 5 of them. |
