Anderson's have a poop year dude...not sure what you're watching. - djamon
Anderson has been playing pretty well actually. I've seen most of the games...the OTT D has been hanging him out to dry most nights, more so than when Lehner is in net. |

If its anything similar to what happened to Karlsson, he will be gone the entire season. It sucks to have a guy like him be sidelined. - ChetManly
Karlsson was out for 10 weeks...not sure why that means Bolland will be out for 6 months. |

This.
The Oilers have some great pieces. But they were never making the playoffs this year. Take the high draft pick, get some D and a G in the offseason. And everything will be fine. - jnwood2517

What about Craig Anderson? He's cheap at about 3.2mil, has one more year on contract, is a bit older, so he can teach Dubnyk a few things, and OTT is likely open to dealing him as Lehner seems ready to take the #1. I could see OTT accepting Smid + Hemsky + 1st (this year or next EDM choice) or a decent prospect in return. Smid is in MacT's doghouse, Hemsky they'd need to chew some salary on but have been searching for a taker for a while now, and the 1st being a EDM choice will likely be around 20th and not useful for at least 2-3 years... - mventres
Honestly looks like an overpay. The oils pick is worth more than Anderson |

If the Oilers are interested in Reimer as a Leafs fan I would listen.
I understand it's not going to be for Klefbom and a first as stated previously in the thread, that's just unrealistic.
Reimer won't be cheap though. He's 25, has put up stellar numbers and he's done it behind a shoddy D and in the media capital of Canada where they're either trying to get him into the Hall of Fame one day and run him out of town the next.
The 1A, 1B goalie system is working great right now but if you could shore up another area, I'd let Bernier run with it.
What about Reimer and a 3rd or 4th for Edmonton's first?
Or....On a blockbuster type of level
Reimer, Gauthier and Percy
for Edmonton's First and Darnell Nurse
Oilers get their Goalie of the present and future, a first round pick two way defenseman who is ready NOW and the future 2nd/3rd line defensive center with size they've been looking for.
Leafs get a defenseman who's still two years or so away with higher upside and the First.
Realistic? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? |

Here is a list of better options in goal for the oil:
Hiller
Fasth
Lehner
Bobrovski!
Halak
Budaj
Emery
Reimer
Bishop
Vasilevski
Goofy
Tinker Bell - EdEagle
are you (frank)ed? after all the goaltending problems in TB over the years you think we're going to trade away a guy who has the most wins in the league with 1 less game played? ... and on top of it our future #1 franchise goalie? |

Oilers 2014 1st and Gernat for John Gibson? I dunno, I just want a starter and if the market for a bonafide one is dead, then they need to take a different approach. |

The first deal is a fair one, but frankly I wouldn't do it because Reimer's liable to make that a #8 pick...which isn't enough, IMO. If it was a top 4 then I do it and Edmonton would be nuts not to.
The second deal isn't terrible, but I don't think Percy's making the NHL as more than a 5-6 guy and Gauthier is still a project.
I know Oiler fans will reject both these deals because they over-value everything they have outside of Smid, Hemsky, Gagner and Dubnyk.

Honestly right now I wouldn't trade the 1st rounder.
What about Marincin + Gagner(or Arco) + 2nd ( next season don't have this years)
Klefbom, Nurse and possibly Ekblad are what the oilers need |
|
|
|
How about Larsen and Taylor Fedun!!!!!!!!! Can honestly say Jultz has not been missed lately... |
|
|
|
It would not surrpise me if Gags is traded... I know he is still injured but (frank)- he was terrible again last night...further- let him stay injured if need be- he is terrible defensively and too slow offensively- its just unfortunate but let Arco take his spot and remain there... |

I like how Justin Schultz is expendable after two games of Larsen and Fedun. Omark had a nice stretch of games to start his career and look where he is now. |
