Why dont you do that then? Vineyard Vines ties arent exactly cheap and I'm sure the 7 bucks they actually give is the profit they would make on the sale. Dont include shipping into this either, are they supposed to contact Fedex and make sure the money you pay for shipping goes the charity as well?

All in all, if you care that much about the charity then just donate directly to them.

Wow, anger much. He said "much cheaper at a department store." Doesn't have to be a Vineyard Vines tie. In fact, no tie should ever cost $75; at that point, it's pretty much status not fashion. You need to calm down a bit.

He also missed the point about shipping (namely, that cheaper options are available). But, y'know, reading is fundamental and therefore beneath him.

Based on his comments, I suspect he is also Vineyard Vines largest stockholder.

Movember wasn't started by the NHL. It has been adopted by it, there are other groups that were more involved that have slipped into the background with the dominance of the NHL taking over.

Sadly, most "a portion of the proceeds go to charity..." things are like that. Just about anything pink that you buy in a store for breast cancer awareness is a sham too. Such a small percentage of the price goes to charity.

I guess some is better than none, but it's good to know going into it that if your objective is to help the charity, just donate. If you are going to buy something anyway and a tiny part of your money going to a good cause, that is fine too, but just don't think that by buying the pink version of something is doing a whole lot to help.

I know I am aware of that, it started in Australia and Canada and the United States have taken over it.

But I mean in general its for prostate cancer as well, but its a identity as well. Never really looked into if its for awarness or proceeds go to research.

It doesn't cost $28 to ship a tie.....to the guy who's saying what is Vineyar Vines supposed to do. Not blaming them, its between the NHL or VV, but someone is again making an unnecessary profit there.

when people say that the penguins just took their top picks and made a winner out of them, I point to EDM.

perfect example of an ownership and front office just ruining a team's talent.

EDM has talent but no team. in today's nhl, it's possible to win without the first but have the second. but it is impossible to win without number 2.

I like the acquisition of Brossoit for the Oilers. He'll be starting in a couple seasons. I don't like them losing Smid though.

The Oilers need to get someone like Kunitz, Callahan or Simmonds in their top 6. They have all the skill they need and then some, but they have no sandpaper to create lose pucks and protect the skill guys.

I'd love a guy like Simmonds on the Pens if the flyers are trading..., Kunitz 2.0

Guys like Simmonds, Callahan and Kunitz are rare. Grinders who can produce top 6 numbers. They are great finds though.
