the leafs lost because they didnt play well for the entire game. the fact that the refs missed blatant calls were just annoying. if the leafs win this game the refs were still bad. this idea that we are only complaining about the wretched officiating when the leafs lose needs to stop.

Right we should complain every game !!!!

meh didn't mind that effort. Ranger is still a plug. Good game for Reimer. Build on that effort boys - 4 or 5 winnable games in the next week or 2.

After a game like this though, it really shows how much Bolland will be missed, I can't believe that happened. (frank) we needed him.

True every time a player went to the bench I was wondering if he was the next out. Kessel, Kadri and Lupul on several occasions.

No.

You're wrong.

The refs are good.

I played hockey don't you know.

Great hockey to watch though. I'll take some nastiness and non-calls over whistle-fest any night.
- gravyface

Not against Boston, I wouldn't.

They leverage the leeway way more than any team in the league. If the refs "let them play" (a ridiculous mentality that only exists in the NHL), they'll take you to the mat and choke you out.

We were (frank)ed from 2-1 onwards. You're not going to get a goal back on Boston in the third in their own building playing their style of game.

They're getting the goaltending to make it happen, and if they play like they did tonight every night they surely will.

I liked the second and third, I think they can. Who knows what happens, I wouldn't bet on fenwick though.

So their not contenders yet, still headed in the right direction, they played hard tonight tough building to get a win in.

Try cheering for Edmonton seems like you'd fit right in there.

He was one of our weaker defenders last year, too. But he scores points, so he's going to get a huge pay day.

If there's one defender I'd actually trade, it would be him. We can't afford him and we don't need him. Rielly makes Franson as expendable as Gardiner.

yes why did we let this guy worry us, he's shown what he is and he's being outplayed by a teenager.

Lost in this: Reimer was the second star with a .939 sv% tonight. .915 last week against the Canucks.

They're obviously protecting Bernier, but Reimer isn't fading away. He's a scrappy guy who is determined to give us a chance to win in every circumstance.

I think Don is loopy. Bernier has played Chicago and Colorado.

Colorado was a blip on the radar when he played them. Nobody considered them a threat.

I think that Reimer is earning starts despite losing, but Bernier is getting the better assignments. This is partially coincidental, but Lieweke had his man in place the minute he got hired.

Bernier is clearly the frontrunner on the future job considering what we paid for him (and the fact he's got a contract beyond this year).

The officiating in that game was an absolute atrocity. EVERYTHING the league is trying to get out of the game was overlooked tonight in Bostons favour. I was beside myself watching that game. Easily two boarding, or checking from behind calls, were let go while the official stood there and watched it, as well as high sticks and elbows, blood included. Un(franking) believable. And yet they'll call holding the stick minors ? I wonder if that weasel Bettman has some kind of mandate after watching that joke of a game. Don't be surprised if Toronto has a few, if not several, injuries after tonights fiasco. I normally don't moan about officiating, but tonight was unquestionably the worst one sided game i've seen since, well, before the league decided zero tolerance on high sticking and intent to injure. Zero tolerance for certain teams i guess. That game just reassures me that the NHL is about money and politics, not sport. Frank you Bettman. I'm done my rant now, I think i just had a mini stroke
