Wonder what options Nonis has now that it's a pretty safe bet Bolland's out till April. - AngryWhiteMale
I'd love to take a chance on Ott. I bet you could get Gaustad cheaper for taking on his salary.
I'm a big fan of both those guys. |

Given the weird alignment of our division, the teams that make it will be the ones who are most efficient at beating the bottom feeders.
I think we're probably okay only beating the contenders 30% of the time, but we're a little behind the eight ball so far in that department.
We've just been great at winning winnable games, which is more than we could say most years past. - Leeman4Gilmour
Pretty much the point I made above.
Goaltending and special teams are all you need to win those types of games, and they'll go far if you bank them early in the season. |

I get involved in helping educate prospective adoptive parents. Sadly, Russia has closed its doors to Canada and the U.S.
In Russia there are 700K+ kids in orphanges and something like 30K applications to adopt from Russian parents.
It is a tragedy. |

As a parent I can only imagine how difficult it'd be but calling teachers "overpaid douche bags" because they are struggling with a student seems harsh. If you feel that strongly about it I'd consider finding another school or at least try to work with them. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying that. - daeth
Harsh yes but also a vent. |

Meh, we have enough of those types of guys. I wouldn't necessarily mind seeing more of Lievo at some point.

I think I would rather we realize that the cup is really not in the picture for us this year. I would prefer getting someone with more upside. |

6 x 6% 330 mL beer
2 % 7% 650mL beer
2 x 200mL glass of wine - lumlums
As long as you can keep track, it's all good.
When you lose track, it's bed time

This team needs Bozak more than any Leafs fan (myself included) likes to admit. He frees up Kessel and JVR to do their thing, especially moving seamlessly through the neutral zone.
Kadri has been a disappointment in his expanded role. - Leeman4Gilmour
Yes we want Bozak
Yes we want jvr on wing
Kardri is so much better away from Kessel |

The question really boils down to: With a small enough sample size, do we think Bolland is someone worth bringing back now that we're looking at him being out til April.
Remember, it's a long season, we're not even a quarter of the way there. |

It's a shame.
I'm a big proponent of nurture over nature. Mrs Lums and I haven't started having kids, but we haven't ruled out adoption as well. |

Minnesota's 7-1-2 at home.
That'll be a tough game. Certainly a familiar opponent for Bernier. |

mhm.
But that would cost way too much...they'd want a goalie and a decent forward. |

Those are staggering numbers for sure, can you imagine the potential of these kids in the right environment?
Sad to think about it. |

I'm not really sold on any of the available high upside types. Not for what they'd cost, anyway.
I think it's important for the team to stay competitive, cup or not. It's important to cultivate a culture of winning and maintain good habits.
I'd throw some low level assets around to keep us in the hunt. Sometimes, those guys end up becoming key pieces moving forward (McClement being the best example). |
