If they can weather the storm and get Bozak back, things will get better. As much as I slag Bozak, I still think he's a useful centre to this team......especially on the 2nd or 3rd line. I still would like to see McKegg get a shot. I know he's not doing poop in the AHL, but I think he would benefit from playing with NHLers who know where they should be and need to be on the ice, which will allow him to show off his creative side a bit. Its not a long term solution, but there are more guys in the NHL than people think that actually put up better NHL numbers than AHL ones.
- mykokes

That's wishful thinking man, but there's little chance that Kegstand would make a dent in our lineup. Not now, probably not ever. Too bad - such a good jersey name gone to waste.

My preference would be Couturier, been saying it for a while.....I guess we'd have to part with Gardiner, although I like the guy.....have to give to get though. If the Leafs pulled off a trade for Couturier, and Adam Larsson from the Devils.....I'd be pretty happy.

I'd prefer someone more established, someone who can step into the lineup and go.

Not a chance it happens, but I'd love for us to get Steen back somehow...

he got burned all night,,,the guy plays like a bantam houseleaguer...constantly pinching and when he does get it going he shoots it like a peewee houseleaguer...I don't get the love for this guy,,,he had like 28 shots last night and no scoring chances

You need a do-over on watching last nights game.

Why not? Couturier has 3 assists in 16 games this season, he also poop the bed last season.....can't really use the sophomore slump as an excuse at this point.....looking like he could amount to nothing more than a 30 point center, the potential is still there though.....worth the risk.
- ThePresident

because Philly has scouts also, I'm sure they've watched Gardiner play. He's not worth even a 3rd rounder at this point in his career, well maybe a 3rd.

haha...I was thinking you need to watch him pinch all night and when he did have the puck, he shot it like a girl - (frank)ing pathetic...all that talent and my mom could constantly take if off of him along the boards....

Did my above post exude love or something? I don't think it did. listen, I get you and HH are part of the whole anti-gardiner faction...but to me he's 23 years old. He's nowhere near the hockey player he can and will most likely be. And what good is it moving him now? He doesn't hurt this team at the moment, and there is a possibility he actually might help it when he figures it out. If you can't see that he's actually trying his ass off to do all the things carlyle wants him to, then that sucks I guess. But have you noticed Randy isn't saying poop about him lately? Or that there's actually a dialogue between the two in terms of which side of the ice he's playing. There's a reason for that. If we were talking about a 25 to 27 year old, sure unload him, but this is still a learning process. Hell this is really only his second year in the league....last year he was concussed.

Clarkson's just not the offensive player people hoped for, and Kadri should be with Kessel. So what if we end up be a one line team for the next 5 games.
- mykokes

Clarkson needs to play with offensive players to contribute though. He creates space for them and that makes more room for him as well.
He looks. Lot more comfortable he last 2 games, and more dangerous. Just need to leave the lines in tact for most of a game so he can learn tendencies of his line mates.

Exactly. He's coming in cold to a new team, new line mates and new system. In time, he'll come good.

is right. Just in clue. No point even discussing with you.

He's supposed to pinch, as long as he does it in a manner where he can get back. Point to 1 pinch that resulted in a goal, and you might have a point. None did.

Ya, but to be fair, your mom is pretty damn good along the boards...and she has more experience.

BL, I don't disagree with you, and come playoff time I'm sure he's going to be a key player in winning a series. I just don't see the upside you see in him. I see a guy capable of 40 points, 20 or so goals, and 200 hits. And we need that. Remember last year you said he was on pace for 30 goals and my argument was he had like 3 in his final 25 gp or something, that's clarkson. He'll go on a run where he scores 8 in 10, then disapear off the scoresheet for 15 games. I don't think Kadri will change that just like Elias/Parise and whoever else he played with in Jersey couldn't change that. And really, that doesn't bother me at all.

He's constantly out of position, I couldn't care if he was 16....I just want the leafs to win, he's always on the wrong side of the puck, shoots it like a girl and is the weakest NHL'r I've ever seen on the boards. Other than that I love the guy, he has speed to burn and uses it well, but once he gets to the puck he's totally useless IMO. I can bash guys I'm allowed and that what these boards are for. I just see all the love for this guy and it's not warranted, maybe someday...but not today that s for sure. If you don't agree that's fine.......I don't expect everybody to agree. What's HH got to do with this, just because he agree's...well maybe he's right

Just the one play was noticeable...a little hesitation - "Should I? I think I can"...then it's too late. That will come with experience. He doesn't have the hardest shot, but as long as it's on net. And the set up in front on his fantastic transition from his end shows the difference between he and a Kadri - Kadri makes the move right...Jake shoots. Couldn't see too many other D realizing the opportunity so quickly and have the speed to move up into that play.

I don't see him helping us......at all.

I did miss the 1st 8 mins of the 2nd period, maybe he was Bobby Orr for a couple shifts and I missed it.

For a guy who constantly pinches has great speed and is supposed to be an offensive defenceman - 3 assists? Like we don't have him out there for his D game 100% but he never shows up on the score sheet...so tell me why he's so great?
