Sure, but Boston was still a better team that year, by far. My point is the Leafs can possibly compete with them in the standings and in the playoffs now, which is progress.

for sure.. leafs were outmatched for past few years but now i think they can go head to head and compete.

How does a team like Edmonton draft 1st overall for soooooooo many years, draft sooooo many highly touted players, yet continue to show ZERO imporvement year after year? Mabie that show by William Shatner WEIRD OR WHAT should do a segment on the strange Oilers. I think the Oilers would fit right in with ghosts, evil puppets, haunted paintings, ufo sightings & the man who's been struck by lightning 9 times.

Eakins will eventually get it turned around. People fail to realize that the NHL has changed dramatically during the past decade or so. It''s all about getting players to understand a system and get them to buy into it. You can see the Oilers trying hard to impress their coach, like Hemsky blocking shots... They obviously need more vets up front and their blueline and goaltending is a mess. Get those two issues solved and take some pressure off the young guns and we'll see a team with potential. It's a huge work in progress, but i think they have the right staff to get it done. Remember last year how everyone made fun of Feester? Well now it's looking like he did an alright job adding vets and changing the culture in Calgary. They have a ways to go but it takes time.

I so sick of this Ford stuff now. It's been dragging on for so long now and we only know the tip of the iceberg. The guy who tried to sell the video to the star for $100,000 is on the CBC's Fifth Estate tonight. There should be some pretty interesting revelations.

There have been people who smoked some crack once and that was it. However, it's safe to say Ford is not one of those people. He's partying hard on multiple substances all the time.

We'd be getting great goaltending the suggested way as well, its the same goaltenders...what are you talking about? I'm saying to start each for a string of games to see what they can do over the course of a few games put together. Same stats, we get it, want to see if we have starters or backups. Starters can string a few great games together, backups can play a few good games in relief.

If you sit either guy for "a string of games" you run the risk of screwing up their confidence (maybe i'm not a bona fide starter), their attitude , and most importantly their drive to become the #1. That's why both are playing so well, they have something to prove EVERY game.
