I knew I could count on you to have seen a film not made in the past 20 years.

It might just be me but has anyone else noticed the apparently awful condition of ice across the entire league this year? Every game I tune into on GCL players are wiping out left and right. At first I thought it was just the Flyers, but the more games I watched of other teams, it felt like I was seeing the same thing.

even more likely.. his pain receptors hadnt kicked in yet and he wasnt fully aware of his injury. You can see he realizes after the second time he tries to stand that his leg is broken in half.

Just watched the Stamkos clip and it's not enjoyable to look at.
You can clearly see it in his face how bad the pain is when the medical staff gets there.
The league needs players like Stamkos, OV, Crosby.. This is not a good day for the NHL at all.

almost theisman-like injury or the NCAA hoops player last year. sick and very sad for the sport. no way he is back this year. just not possible. I hope he can resume his career in October.

You know, it's funny that you mention that. Because yes, Claude Giroux's scoreless drought was ridiculous, but I kinda thought it was overblown.

I saw that Anze Kopitar, for instance, didn't get a goal until his 11th game.

I'd like to believe that Giroux might be able to make some magic tomorrow, Wednesday, as well.

It was an ugly slump, to be sure, but that's all it was -- a slump.

The calls to strip the guy of his captaincy and to trade him were where it got off the rails. It was just a slump, where some games he didn't play as well as he could have, some games the puck just didn't go in.

Only in Philadelphia is a 21-game stretch, over parts of two seasons, hyped up more than the fact that same guy, even with that slump, still averages more than a PPG for the last three seasons played.

Sometimes a nice road trip can be just what the doctor ordered. They're a young group with several new key faces. Team travel, hotels, etc - a nice chance to really solidify bonds and to reinforce them perhaps?
