I just don't know why Eakins sit there criticizing all of these guys for not adjusting, yet he makes no adjustments himself. He seems quite rigid in his system and policies. He needs to adapt. Kruger did more with less.... - Iggysbff

Its OK Yak. You dont want to play defence, then dont play defence. You are a #1 pick afterall. |

Im not saying Eakins is a great coach, but im just tired of the blaming them. If Yak would just listen to his coach he wold be fine. The kid needs to grow up, and his agent isnt helping. - doon
Take Yak out of this situation and there is still plenty of issues. |

Yup, well maybe throw in 4 Semenkos. Might as well keep Dubs, he would be good enough on that team - doon
A bunch of us were in a pub on the road one time and we started the debate about who was the best all around player ever. We found an interesting way to try to do that by saying `an entire team of player X` would win a 7 game series vs `an entire team of player Y`.
It`s an interesting debate. I was on the side of `an entire team of Messiers or Lindross. That was about 12 years ago though, lots of new players to debate about now.
There`s no right answer, just an interesting debate. |

I just wrote a blog about this this morning? With whom does the fault lie? 5v5 was great to start the year, but has fallen off hard.
Seems that side by side we still seem to have deemphasized defensive play by the wingers in both Kruger and Eakins systems |

You buy a Shelby Cobra GT for 1 reason......you'd look stupid if you start complaining about how it doesn't hold many groceries in the trunk and it wont pull a travel trailer very well wouldn't you? |

So I thought about it and Foligno and Ehrhoff for Yak would be quite an offer. it would really suck to trade Foligno but i think i would do it. |

I guess I'm not sure what Edomonton fans are expecting from a coach that has only been at the helm for 19 games and is still getting his feet wet as an NHL skipper. He's inherited a team with a lot of talent but is still getting to know these players and what their strengths and weaknesses are. Gotta give the guy some time... Certainly needs more than 19 games to figure things out. |

I don't see Yakupov going without McDonagh coming our way.
If I'm wrong on that, then I don't see a deal with Yak coming our way without Kreider returning. |

Why r so many of these proposals retarded?
EDM will not trade yak unless it makes the team better in both the short and llong run.
I doubt they move him to a divisional rival unless they massively overpay... especially the nucks after what happened at the draft. |

Fair point.
Given how good the special teams were last I suggest Eakins get started by copying Krueger's pp and pk strategies |

That's not the point. It's not just Yak. Its others as well. PP and PK changes have not been great. Better the last week or so, but still they were far better under Kruger. Eakins is doing a lot of things differently. |

I think the thought of Yak playing on anyones team is intriuging at the very least. But do you really want to give up multiple talent for one talent when this guy has already shown a high level of disloyalty with an obvious penchant for malcontentedness. |

Yakupov should go, it`s not a coach`s fault for benching a player or limiting his play for playing irresponsible hockey. He is not competing for his ice-time and he is a serious defensive liability. Now he has become a locker room distraction...time to go rookie.
You don`t win championships with guys like this and I wouldn`t include him in the long term plan. Now is the time, get some pieces back to start making this team compete. We were all drooling over the `what if`we had a big 2nd line C to go with Nuge Hall Ebs etc....well...GO GET HIM!
Yak, rookie phenom D man, 1st rounder....GO GET HIM! |
